For those of you who have tried pre-loading with piracetam (or other nootropics), has anyone found it actually made your roll less intense? Also, I know most people use it to regain the magic, but is there any reason it shouldn't have the desired effect if you take it before you've lost the magic?
I've only done MDMA 4-5 times, have been spacing it out, and haven't lost the magic yet. But I'd heard piracetam could enhance the high, so I decided to try pre-loading 1500mg (+600mg choline) for a few days before rolling, then the same thing on the day of, in addition to a larger dose of 3000mg (+1200mg choline) a couple hours before dropping.
I dropped 130mg MDMA for the first dose + 60mg booster at T+1:30 + another 60mg at T:3:00. The roll came on very mild and peaceful, which was different, but enjoyable enough. But then the peak wasn't nearly as strong as it's been before. The euphoria and "loved-up" feelings were significantly dampened, and it was more of a physical high (lots of eye wiggles, jaw clenching). I felt very clear-headed and aware of the fact that I was rolling, and despite being in a good mood and feeling very chatty like usual, it was so lucid that I never got fully into the mindset. My boyfriend (who had been pre-loading with the same dosages) felt the same way.
I had pure molly (as far as I know-- it tested fine with the Mecke reagent), and have had a great time on this same batch before, so I know it's not a source issue. I'm not on any SSRIs, so that's also not a problem. I was pre-loading with 5-HTP earlier in the week, but I stopped a couple days before the roll-- that should be long enough to eliminate any interference from that, right? My last roll the month prior was fantastic, and the piracetam is the only thing I did differently this time, so I can't think of what else it could have been.
I was really hoping piracetam would live up to its reputation. I've heard that it adds greater clarity, which I would certainly agree with-- but is it really the kind of clarity that makes you feel less euphoric / more sober? Is this typical?
