Has Bluelight affected your drug use or view on drugs?

I always knew about Bluelight, but I didn't bother looking into it because it was a forum and that required too much reading and not as easy as Erowid.

However I wanted to join a forum, I tried Totse.com but there was some issue with joining. My original intent was to set those suckers straight, they are complete morons over there! Anyways, I ended up signing onto Bluelight, which was a painfree and quick process.

Totse are morons. the most intelligent have defected to paradoxsector.com. Totse's gone down the tubes.

its refreshing meeting like minded people and frustrating when reading alot of the judgemental and small mined stuff

indeed.

It's wonderful meeting all these people and seeing eveyronehelping eachother out. it does bring on the wants for drugs on occasion, but that's up to me to get over.

I am extra proud of the Dark side because it's relatively troll free and everyonehas some invaluale knowledge to help others and yeah, probably has saved some peoples' lives over time.

It has dispelled a lot of myths that i was taught by; schools, media, and fellow drug users who were not very enlightened. It has been great to meet people who are on the same wavelength and enjoy the same passtimes and veiws as myself

I already knew a bit about 'safe' drug use before this site (although this was more a consequence of having informed friends than through any effort on my behalf), but I've still learnt a lot from bluelight. But like others have said I think it probably increased my use initially, as I learnt about new drugs and reading people's experiences normalised others that I was more apprehensive about.

I don't take drugs much anymore, but bluelight is still the first place I come to to get info.

Not really...I already learnt everything I needed to know about drugs from teachers/school, parents, dealers, friends.

You bet, I use bluelight for information all the time, from anything so trivial as dose information to reading trip reports deciding if I want to venture to a certain psychedelic substance or not. Totally invaluable source, this place is.

yea...i learn a lot about drugs and lifestyles from bluelight...i also feel that i am now more openminded about drugs--before BL i would be like "heroin addicts are disgusting...etc" and start naming allt the drug stereotypes---now im willing to try any drug- and not just to "try" it, but to gain insight

Honestly, it turned me off from getting into drugs. I have experimented with my share of drugs but after reading all the posts about how often someone does this drug or that drug, it kinda freaks me out a little bit. Not saying that I think these people are wrong, but it made me not want to be like that.

I echo many of the previous replies.

I'd never heard of HTP, DMT etc...
Bluelighters kinda got me thinking about trying DMT some time.

fellow Bluelighters have taught me how to go about doing drugs in moderation, which is the key if you ask me.

I also like to be able to offer advice or personal experiences when someone asks "can weed really do this to you" and stuff about mental disorders.

Bluelighters have helped me squash previous misconceptions about many different drugs, especially e. Handling drugs is shady, all the way around, but Bluelight helps shine some light on the truths and falsehoods of various things.

I can't help but think bluelight has helped people take chemicals in a reasonable (or safe, I guess) manner.

But I also can't help but think Bluelight has accelerated the drug use of many site members as well.

This is my favorite site because there's not a lot of bitching. Though the site discusses chemical intake, I do know of a few rave websites where people don't even talk about music...they just bitch.

For me, Bluelight is very constructive.

PEACE

I learned a ton of stuff about harm reduction that I never really put into practice. I also learned a lot of stuff about drug chemistry and pharmacology which has enabled me to win arguments with stubborn burnouts and impressed/scared my highschool health teacher.

*bump*

wow.... this is such a powerful and moving statement for BL what a great outcome,

for me bl has brought so much to my life and not just limited to providing information about drugs that changed the way i did risk assesment

bl has been able to grow a passion about the AOD area and made my life eaiser by way of contributing to my learning and retraining to work in the drug and alcohol sector.

also it helped me meet my now long time partner MeZZedup who is going to be my life partner :)

Erowid and Bluelight are almost solely responsible for me ever getting into drugs in the first place. I learned that most psychoactive substances aren't as bad as they're portrayed in everyday society. Whether that's a positive or negative change in my life remains to be seen. Although drugs haven't fucked over my life yet, the posts here remind me that it can be a pill or shot away.

But this is the only place I can speak freely about drugs without fear of consequence, so it continues to be an asset in that sense. It's always nice to have an outlet.

Bluelight showed me that I wasn't necessarily crazy for liking drugs, and that it wasn't an inherent evil to do them.

Honestly I have been using drugs of various kinds since age 10 and will probably continue to do so until my time is spent.

I have only been visiting these pages for a short time now and have gained a log of useful info.

As far as direct influence on my drug use, besides helping me to make an informed decision regard my choices. Frequenting Bluelight seams to make me crave what ever drug I happen to be reading about as I enjoy the use of most. In dead,' the only drug I have yet to try to my knowledge is Crack and perhaps a handful of Ethnobotanicals and pharmaceuticals.

Well most likely many pharmaceuticals. Those bastards just keep churning them out at alarming rates don't they.

So far it's just been nice to find a community like bl. I'm fairly new to forums in general, and I've been out of the scene for a while.

My sheltered little world has been opened up.. There are alot of drugs I have never heard of and am excited to research here on bl. I have a friend who is into IV drug use and have been reading up on helping her through her addiction as well. I feel for alot of ppl on here with their addictions and it has made me realize my opiate use is in no way a lost cause. I am inspired by the people and their stories I come across.

Before I joined BL, I had already done my fair share of research on erowid and the like. I wouldn't go so far to say I already "knew everything" but I had gained a considerable amount of insight to the nature of all sorts of drugs. Erowid showed me that it wasn't wrong to enjoy doing drugs or to be fascinated by them.

But when I did finally sign up here, it was quite the eye-opener. Never before had I imagined that there was such a dense forum filled with like-minded people. This is such a great community for responsible, intelligent drug users, which is extremely refreshing as I'm one of the few people in my group of friends that ever bothers to do any research. A lot of them actually come to me when they want to know what a random substance is and what it does to them. Bluelight has certainly aided me in that regard.

I think that I've definitely done more substances upon joining Bluelight than I ever had before, but I'm sure that would've happened one way or another.
