Opioids Has anyone ever used dehydrocodeine or codeine phosphate 60 mg daily for over a year long term ?

Not codeine but morphine into which codeine gets metabolized. If you want to ask about that, there's no physical harm besides addiction and lowered testosterone from long term use of opiates.

Thanks for reply mate so if i am just taking 60 mg tablets of codeine phosphate around 6 of them a day, could this do damage to my kidneys/liver or stomach or maybe cause stomach ulcers? they are not mixed with paracetamol and i have been taking these for around a year everyday would of i caused my self some internal damage? i do get some belly noises and slight aches and pains down my sides once i have taken them recently. ? cheers much appreciated for your reply back bro

No you won't damage your organs with Codeine or DHC no matter how long uve been doing it for, just as long as there isn't paracetamol in the mix. I've been using Oxycodone daily for 7 years and I'm still fit and healthy.

As long as there is no paracetamol, acetaminophen (Tylenol) mixed in with the codeine, you are not harming your internal organs.
Codeine is pretty pure.
Best to stop now though, if you do not really need it for pain.
The withdrawal will only be three days of hell for you, if you stop now.
Then back to normal.

Yup.
me too.

You can still be healthy and fit. For sure.
You just have to be careful not to take too much.
More is not necessarily better.
Find a good fit for your needs and stay there.

It has worked for me for 15 years now.
 
Hey OP. Codeine is an Opioid. Opioids are any drug that mimic the effects of Morphine or otherwise, stimulate or agonize Opioid receptors in the body. Codeine is metabolized into Morphine, typically at a rate of 10:1 meaning 10mg Codeine = 1mg Morphine.

Opioids in general are not toxic. Alcohol will destroy the body. Cocaine can make your heart explode. Methamphetamine destroys brain cells. Opioids really don't seem to cause much harm to the body in and of themselves. It's often stated that the most common and harmful side effects of Opioids are constipation. That constipation can be severe, but it's also something that is typically managed with ease when addressed.

I think most people would argue that the most harmful effects of Opioids are psychological. They make you feel good. They make you feel so good, you'll forsake all conviction to get more. This spiral of addiction often leads to other health problems, often coinciding with stuff like chronic homelessness, malnutrition etc.

So, I wouldn't worry so much about your health. Just be aware that you're taking an Opioid and you're only a human being.
 
I have used codeine and especially DHC daily in doses of 600mg+ over years mixed with other opiates and benzos. They make you feel on top of the world at first, then as with all opiates you end up taking them to just get well.
They're non toxic to your body, but they fuck up your brain chemistry as you end up dependent, and also (especially mixed with benzos) make you slow and generally you end up with the opposite of the effects you first got. That feeling of invincibility ended up with my being an all around skint liability.
If I had a cheap and easy to obtain supply this would not have been as bad, but the magic goes as with all daily drug use.

Have you do you not get any bad side effects atall? and i don’t really mix with benzo atall i just stick to dehydrocodeine or codeine phosphate and only use them of a weejend and not to many about 4-6 tablets, i have got a easy source and usually get them to next to nothing and have a a lot of them around me but i don’t get the temptation through the week days or if i do i can resist it but i’m just worrying about my kidneys/liver i’m mentally strong and don’t let it get a hold of me i’m just concerned on my health if u have them daily as i was doing them daily at one point but stoped cos i was getting aches and pains down the side of my stomach and a lot of constipation and stomach growling noises. i don’t do any other drugs or hardly drink either

hey thanks for your detailed reply bro and i’m glad i don’t take any other drugs or drink alcohol i used to smoke weed but stoped and that’s why i use these codeines of a weekend to sort of chill out and get some good sleep but i was taking daily but have stopped it now because i felt like my kidneys and liver were getting effected that was my concern aswell as the aches and pains down the left side of my belly and in the centre of my stomach sometimes feeing like a shooting pain or stitch type feeling that last few second and comes and goes also stomach growling noises and constipation i’m just using weekends now but will properly need something to combat the constipation just don’t know what is best to use as i don’t want it to effect my kidneys as i am quite paranoid that i may have done damage even though my tablets don’t have no tylenol or paracetamol or added medicines hopefully i will be fine because of this and i’m going for blood test 3rd of november as i got really uneasy about the slight sitch feeling shooting pins i was getting in the sides of my stomach and centre of my stomach but all good if they don’t cause toxic to the stomach even though i will still use minimal as i can on the weekends
