Opioids Has anyone ever had panic attacks caused by opiates...

Hey, its starts off with feeling a little light headed, hands go numb, i start breathing slower due to the drug (which is normal of course). When this happens i started to panic and hypeventalate. Then i get really dizzy and a flown blown panic attack ensues.

Ahh ok, its different then, thanks man.

Has anyone ever had panic attacks caused by opiates and be able to over come them? and take the drug?
Im a chronic pain patient and 5 mg of oxy gives me panic attacks, i go to the ER, i end up being fine just havinng a crazy panic session. I then get frustrated because i ACTUALLY need these drugs.

Has this happened to anyone else and have they gotten over it???

This does happen, and it's happened to me a couple of times. Both times I was in a state of withdrawal from Methadone.
It was triggered by anxiety and I would get these hot flashes on my face and surges of adrenaline that made me very dizzy and
basically scared the hell out of me. I couldn't sit still , I had to walk around outside and try to make myself settle down. Finally
it did and when I took my dose of methadone I got back to normal. It took several hours though. It hasn't happened again,
and I hope it never does. I still don't know why it happened but it was definately caused in part by stress.

Pointless post saying I'm floating from some poppy seed tea right now. Thank you bulk health store for always having such unwashed seeds. 1lb and I get 2 cups of bitter ass tea.
