What is it like to have to experience the abrupt onset of withdrawal symptoms, while currently maintaining a heavy to very heavy opioid dependance? In this case, I would consider "heavy" to mean an amount more than most people would use per dose and assuming they have at least some degree of tolerance. I can't even imagine..I fucking hate w/d so much (as do we all), I really don't know how I would take a situation like that. Let's say you're taking 150 mg of methadone daily for the past twenty years without missing a day. You accidentally overdose, and are rushed to the hospital where you are immediately injected with a very high dose of Naloxone?
I'm curious as to just how bad it is; does it seem to increase linearly with the dose of opioids you're accustomed to? Or is there some sort of ceiling effect with a plateau above which dose doesn't make any difference - even when maximum doses of Naloxone are given.
