My Name Jean and I am a functional Codeine addict for 7 years. I also love playing FPS video games and uploading Let's Plays to YouTube.
I believe everyone has the right to do what they wish with their bodies/minds as long as no one is negatively affected by this behaviour. I think the current drug laws are ridiculous and harmful. Turning your everyday citizen into criminals because they enjoy something other than alcohol. I also hate the way the media talks about drugs and drug users, referring to them as 'junkies' like they are sub class humans. There will always be some people out there who just want to f**k themselves up no matter how much help they get and then there is the majority who go to work every day, pay taxes and enjoy their hobbies but like to take drugs on the side.
I hope one day society attitudes change and I can freely buy and take my opiates as I wish like the adult I am. If drugs were made legal and taxed appropriately then those who get in a pickle of addiction and want help will be able to seek better help and treatment. We also need more education around drugs. I got lucky with having very open parents who told me everything I wanted to know. I was always bought up with "You can do anything you want just as long as you don't hurt anyone else, whether it’s legal or illegal, as an adult the decision is up to you"
