Will swim be fine at the dentist getting my wisdom teeth ripped out? They are giving me IV valium & laughing gas, i was thinking... if swim does about 200-300 mg's of Oxy contin the day before wouldn't it still be in swim's blood ? Meaning the valium would potentiate the oxy contin still in my blood causing a respritory failure, or whatever, while i'd be under made nitrious unable to inforum them what'sup lmaoo idkk :\ talk to meee tell me im good!
 
Um first of all, no swimming on BL, we know it's you.

And, I've never heard of JUST a valium IV and nitrous for that. I had a benzo + opiate IV mix for the several oral surgeries I've had. Also, there will be a nurse there monitoring your heart and blood pressure and breathing and such at all times. Also, your post just sounds really immature..."lmao" in the same sentence as "respiratory depression" just irks me, and you could have easily found this info by using the search engine, or even using google.

This also. Oral surgeons aren't there to judge, they know what they are doing to you is incredibly painful afterwards. Also, if you are very tolerant to opiates, you really should tell the surgeon so he can give you something to adequately relieve your pain afterwards (typically you get hydrocodone, or sometimes percocet [oxy+APAP], but I've heard of friends being given just codeine, or nothing at all). Typically, when you're having wisdom teeth pulled, you aren't drug seeking, so telling the oral surgeon all of your concerns (don't know how old you are, you can ask to talk to him without your parent/whomever is bringing you in the room if you'd like) is probably the best way to go about this. But, as I said, a nurse will be there monitoring you at all times...they stick all those things on your chest to monitor your heart rate and such too, it's far different from a day at the dentist, believe me.


OH, and if you don't have a reusable ice pack, I would DEFINITELY invest in one...along with some plain mashed potatoes and chocolate pudding. Those are going to be your best friends for the next week or so.
 
but if i told them i was opiate tolerant they wouldn't refuse to give me a opiate perscription or SOMETHING for pain??
 
and they clearly told me IV + valium but maybe theyll change they're mind when i tell them how opiate tolerant i am.

Maybe they will, maybe they won't. It's the risk you have to take...plus, if you have a tolerance of 300mg oxy, it's not like the script of 15-30 5mg hydros is going to do much for your pain anyway.
 
IV (what) + valium?

A lot of the time they give you the valium 20-30 minutes before you even go to the operating room (thats what they did with me) so you're relaxed and compliant. It also helps whatever they're IVing you with, usually a barb + opioid, or a benzo + opioid. N2O is used as well, I had all of these things when I got my wisdom teeth out.

But yeah, it is your responsibility to tell them what drugs you've taken and your tolerance to drugs. Better safe than sorry my friend.
