can I have one reply pls?
bluelight, the harm reduction site... does it really improve life? I am talking about meth and heroin users, threads about how to IV make me think.

you know in my experience only people that stop destroying their life is those that hit rock bottom, have some kind of terrorizing terrifing momemt. Some fucked up IV mistake that sends u to ER,while horrible, might be also treasure of life event,an eye opener, chance to stop adiction.

when u prevent that hapening via BL,these people will succesfully ruin their lifes without that mistake OD or whatever that would slap em from the zombie addict trance that can go on without pause for decades.

the worse their drug use time of life is the better chance to stop they have, thats just truth real world fact.No one stop IV meth all healthy and safe, its becose moment when they crap their pants from death terror when they are like, fuck man i really need to stop doing this

bluelight the harm reduction site..... more like bunch of junkies giving tips how to be junkie

I really reject that notion.

I always make sure my posts have some kind of HR content if at all possible. And I have a habit of reporting posts that clearly disregard any request for HR, some people can be very imaginative in disguising their posts as HR but really are just after the best way in which to get high. I mainly post in 'Other Drugs', primarily because I use Benzodiazepines and Opiates/Opioids for genuine medicinal purposes and they've really cracked down on threads not containing HR value, and posts that are pretty much asking how best to abuse something.

Just a week or so ago brutus reiterated the purpose of BL being harm-reduction in Rules-of-Other-Drugs-HR-Always-Comes-First!! (post number 10)

I really don't see BL as being a 'bunch of junkies giving tips on how to be a junkie' I see it as a very wide spectrum of people from all backgrounds who are incredibly educated on various aspects of drugs/medications that give up a lot of their own time to make sure people aren't being stupid and aren't doing dangerous things.

It's an incredibly valuable forum and there are none others like it.

You're completely missing the point of what harm reduction is. We aren't here to make people lives better, we're here to help those who are going to continue using drugs, no matter what, do so in a safe manner that reduces the chance of them winding up in a hospital/morgue.

i am missing the point? u didnt even reed my post

People don't have to reach such lows in order to decide to quit using. I don't see a reason for depriving people of HR just because you think that they are better off having bad things happen to them in hopes that it serves as an inspiration for them to get clean.

The number one rule for any one starting out using drugs should surely be Don't become addicted. After that it should be Stay healthy

If you fail the first two objectives then perhaps you should reconsider your journey.

Ugh.

There are tips to safe(r) drug use, to keep people healthier while they use, as well as addiction support/recovery forums.

I may have learned a few tricks here and there, but also learned a lot, and try to give back for that, as I have too much free time.

The forum used to be a little more liberal in years past, but it is far more focused these days on safe use!

Yeah, no. So people need to lose everything in order to get sober? So that they have nothing to live for?

I had the same reaction from my family when I showed up a bit pilled out(accidentally, actually), people who I had given everything to, always helped, and they seemed to forget all that when they found something to disapprove of.

The lot of them can all fuck off, IMO.

yes they do

Nah, they really don't. Motivation to truly turn around can come from innumerable sources.
Rock bottom might be the ticket. Might, maybe not.
I didn't get off the junkie train until my gf confronted me with how much of a asshole I'd become, showed me pics and video of me nodded, eyes rolled back and threatened to leave.
It was far from rock bottom territory. Just fear of losing someone. Many possible sources.
I question BL's stated goals, too. I've learned a lot as far as safe technique, etc. But I've also known, um... People that use it as a "networking tool."
Ultimately I feel like the good outweighs the bad.

yes they do
So what you're saying is people need to destroy their body to the point of needing an organ transplant but not qualify due to the fact they are a junkie to gain the motivation to get clean. Yea that seems like the perfect opportunity to turn over a new leaf and move on with your life. 8)

Don't make a blanket judgement on what works for everybody based on your own limitations.

OP I read some of your posts over in the darkside and I think you need to get out of your gramps house-his farts are deteriorating your brain.

Not everybody that uses drugs is a junkie. If you are going to use them, you may as well be smart about it. Since a lot of junkies dont have health insurance HR is also saving taxpayers from costly ER visits the junkie is unable to pay.

If you dont agree with BL then get off, or go write about your gramps farts on some other message board.

yes they do

Another propaganda anal slave. Quit watching TV and come out into the real world. There is more than one approach to addiction and they all fail most of the time. Rock bottom is a self-fulfilling prophesy. You abandon people you supposedly love in their time of need, then get a sick sense of satisfaction because someone on tv told you it helps them when you are really just getting off from their misery. Afterwards you say "I told you so" after you helped create that situation by marginalizing them.

Rock bottom doesnt always have to mean that they have an OD that scares them into quitting. Some people get to the point where the lack of money makes them decide they cant live this way (as a user/abuser) anymore, sometimes they get to that point because they are tired of hurting others or being alone in their addiction. Sometimes they may reach that point because the lifestyle just gets old. If we dont give them harm reduction and they are dead, they will never have an opportunity to get to that point where they desire a change in their life. I think it is a pretty shitty attitude to have. Are you a junky? Have you walked that road?

Haha. I very much enjoyed these two paragraphs.
Matter of fact, from now on whenever I don't agree with someone, think they're speaking stupidly, I'm gonna tell them they need to stop breathing their grandpa's farts and get some fresh air.

I've only been on BL a couple months and its already reduced harm for me. I'm on vacation & couldnt take my heroin with me so i had to take vicodins. I had never heard of CWE before I came to this site. If not for BL, I wouldve been popping between 5-10 vics of varying strength daily. That's a ton of APAP. But BL taught me to CWE, so I did.

Thats real harm reduction. Its not like i wouldnt have taken the pills otherwise-I wouldve. BL just showed me how to do it in a safer way.

I'm not much of a believer in "a website (or a book, a movie, a game, a song, my friends) MADE me do it".

Haha well it comes from truth-he had posted in the dark side rant thread about suffocating from his gramps farts. It was pretty entertaining and I thought he was funny til I read this thread.
