Thanks for that, I suppose services are limited and seem too few and far between. Im in Melbourne and had a browse through turning points website, but it wasn't right for me at this present moment, and there didn't seem to be any others who could help.
Just before easter I missed, a regular occurrence these days as I have not a lot of healthy space left on my arms after 10 years. But this miss was the worst. The lateral part of my arm (where you'd suffer tennis elbow) was that swollen I couldn't button the sleeve on my shirt, the skin was stretched and shiny, red and inflamed. I was so worried, but my hubby doesn't know about my activity and I couldn't just disappear for 7 hours if I went to an ED as he was home for the holidays. I had some antibiotics which weren't specific to this type of infection, but it was all I had. My GP who works at CO Health is on leave and they didn't have any available GPs until mid May. I didn't know what to do. On day 5 I could finally sneak out to see a GP who thought it was a PE and Rx me blood thinners, of course I didn't take them. Its significantly reduced in size and no longer red but its now a rock hard lump about the size of a small lemon and I dont know whether my body will deal with this completely or if I should see some, but who????? Im too ashamed to go to any GP, but honestly I dont know where to go. I was hoping to find some clinics lined here that deal with medical problems caused by addiction, but didn't seem to find any. Thanks for you time in reading.
