Happy Hardcore Still Not Taking Off In The States Like It Has In Australia n' UK!

hhc is one bastardized/pile of shite genre if i ever saw one, and is just plain horrible. If you like it and this offends you. Oh well, give it some time, you'll grow out of it, and you'll be asking yourself one day "What the hell was i thinking".

i consider myself a jungle kid.happy hardcore happens to come a very close second.if you really have trouble dancing to happy, you have no rythm.not only does it keep me dancing much harder than repetitive trance song,it breaks into jungle and other genres quite alot, making it to where i can pop and dance fast.its a good mix as far as dancing is concerned.
musically evolved? have any of you listened to some of the arpeggios in happy?some of it blows me away.
why isnt it big in the us?well, since the basslines in the happy songs which most people like have a punk song to match(or some other form of music)i would say it isnt different enough.give me a happy song, ill give you a non-electronic song that everyone will know, that uses the same catchy 4 note bassline.this is where the other electronic genres differ.(although you will find some that could qualify)
basically where happy went wrong is when they let the least talented writers write the lyrics.there are quite a few happy songs that i will always like.but most of them,i dont.its kind of like what tina fay of weekend update on snl said to alanis morisette."alanis, not everything you write in your journal is a song."
whatever....ill see yall on another thread like this in about 3 months. :)

i understand that people either love or hate happycore, but what offends me is that you haters are all such bitches about it. talk about music snobs... i will 150% respect anyone who can tell me, steffie i dont like happycore, it doesnt do anything for me and i dont like listening to it. but when everyone and their mos jumps on the bandwagon saying that its shit and theres nothing to it and how stupid it is and theres only 5 songs and just talking shit, well you dont see us openin up all the trance and house threads saying you trance and house djs are unevolved and 10 years ago and cocksucking little bitchasses. if ya dont like it, say you dont like it, but for reals, have some fucking respect at a bare minimum.

doesn't change my views. still thinks it a bastardized genre created soley to appeal to newcomers, and suitable for radio. Maybe if you didn't listen to soo much hhc, you might not have so much aggression.

also, i might add...
i too did not like hhc
until i realized that it is not about taking things so damn seriously, its about jumping around and having a good time, being happy, showing your love for music through dancing around until your body can hardly hold you up, and then dancing some more... imo

Sprint until your legs fall off? Does anybody feel love when listening to hhc and if so please explain it to me. All I hear is noise.

You do realize that Jungle has the same BPM generally as hardcore does?
Just that jungle has a broken beat, while hardcore is a 4x4.
As far as the post. I am not a big hhc fan, I got into it for a little while in my early raving days, but I got into cheesy trance at the same time as well. It's just the overly cheesiness that turns me off to it.
But I will always go into a hhc or hardcore DJs set with an open mind. I do believe the genre (hardcore, not hhc) could have a quality sound and flow to it if done right, but I have yet to really hear it from any DJs I've seen.
But I'm sure there is a DJ out there that has that kind of ability and applies it to hardcore.
But at parties...I have come to accept music that doesn't fit my standards...so I just dance my ass off anyways and have a good time. I won't let the music ruin my night :)
I get to hear my music in clubs only...

no you have it backwards. i wasn't the one using every swear word in the book in my post (except shite). Did i say cocksucking little bitches? all did was explain my disgust for the genre. read a little closer next time before you try and flip things around.

Yes, yes..... everyone is entitled to thier opinion..... and here's mine:
HHC, hard trance (most), and all hard house/nrg rank among the $hittiest music forms ever conceived on this earth (to me). I can understand for someone to be able to get down to it at a party since it is all beat and loud soundsystems do go along way.....
But the people that listen to this shit in thier cars on low grade music transmission machines (i.e. boombox)..... come on.
I argue that it has no definative soul or emotion other then the extreme "positiveness". That is all fine and dandy.....but who here (w/o the aid of a jar a month) is that happy.
And to some of the "junglists" (read: white people who got into elec. music via hip hop).... some of d'n'b is also noise without varied emotion besides anger. I do prefer jungle b/c of the greater range of feeling from some artists (LTJ, Roni Size).
In summary.... appreciate music for the range of feelings it can invoke and the general feeling you get. To all that got the message (and actually like hhc!) this means that what i can tell you regarding music just doesn't really matter.
Peace,
Safari

i'm not getting in to this tired same old argument AGAIN!!!!! but i will just say this:
notice how all the stereotyping, closed-minded posts who state their opinions as law are all against happy hardcore. you guys are making yourselves look stupid in your attitudes.
also: why not answer this persons thread??? he/she didn't say "what do you all think of hhc?" no not at all the question was "why do people think it's not taking off in the states?"
it was a question that allows for intelligent debate imo - something you guys never allow for in these topics. i ask, hopefully with the support of the wider BL community, that if you have nothing USEFUL to say in a thread that contributes to discussion in a positive manner, DON'T POST.

maybe in the US, in the UK, jungle evolved out of hardcore in the early 90's and was a truly cross-race thing from the inner cities.

Yeah, but 'cos of the breaks and the basslines, jungle often has a kind of reggae half-speed rhythm, which is what most people actually dance to at jungle do's.

you know, i want to put a big long rant here, but i am really not sure i can be bothered.
Music is one of the most subjective things there is, so to come on here and say a form or genre of music is "shit" or whatever, is one of the most arrogent things you can do.
In fact it makes you a twat, and that is not subjective, thats a fact.

Yes, but numerous scientific studies have proved conclusively that happy hardcore is shit.
And you can't argue with science. :D

does hhc bashing only occur in the states?
maybe its something in the water
(or the dippies ;) )

Why is that arrogant? Just because something is (quite obviously) subjective doesn't mean people can't express their opinions about it. By your reasoning, everyone who says that HHC is great must be being arrogant too. Just because something is fundamentally a matter of opinion doesn't mean we can't discuss it.
