Happy easter everyone!

Hope everyone is having a safe and happy easter!

One query on easter has anyone else noticed that chocolate easter eggs are not tasting as good as they used to? Had two different brands of chocolate eggs this easter and they dont taste as good as previous years.

Maybe I am just getting old or may have have something to do with the rise in cocoa prices!
 
Eggs for all! I really only like the Red Tulip ones. But I don't have any eggs this year, went to buy some yesterday and ended up getting rice and energy drinks :\ lol.
 
Shitty Easter for me :( Got rushed to hospital on Thursday night after i kept throwing up and passing out every 15mins..Couldn't breathe, was extremely dehydrated, malnourished..Every time i went to stand up i just fell to the floor.

So i was provided oxygen, had 3 drip's put in, several pill's, and had multiple blood test's..Then had to stay until Saturday morning. Now I'm Nurofen and Cilamox (Amoxycillin)

Anyway Happy Easter to everyone else :)
 
Well the Doctor's told me that i was extremely dehydrated and malnourished but i also had a virus that became 10x worse because my immune system was doing it's job because of how unfit i was or something :\ I think being so malnourished and dehydrated didn't help either :(

Ive got my release letter at home so ill post that up when i get a chance..

So now i have to quit my diet of 5 Red Bull's per day, junk food for morning tea and more junk for lunch...also i think ill lay off the drug's until I'm back to 100%.
 
Sir Pacman my friend was just telling me how easter eggs didnt taste as good this year so you arent the only person who has noticed :)
 
Well cocoa and sugar are at pretty high prices worldwide aren't they? Perhaps the big chocolate manufacturers are skimping on the quality cocoa butter etc to maintain profits?

Actually, commodities have been down since the GFC.

I payed $1.60 for a Cadbury creme egg at it's most this easter. They are down to $.99 at the moment. Nom nom nommmmmmmm. I'd rather shove a whole creme egg in my mouth that throw away a dollar coin in a poker machine!

I came first in a work trivia comp and took the booty which happened to be a metric fuck-ton of chocolate. A few gifts from the family compounded that situation and now its choc-ahoy at my place.

The global Cocoa production is up 37,000 tonnes on last year and an increase in supply traditionally means reduction in price. Indeed prices have been kept low in the world Cocoa market and in February 2010 prices heavily spiraled downward from a high of USD3,370 to a low of USD2,941.

The Cocoa market slightly decoupled from the wider global commodity market during March and this led to inflated Cocoa prices. A seasonal increase in Western demand (i.e. Easter), a weaker US dollar and political instability in Côte d’Ivoire which is a major producer of Cocoa. So perhaps that is what you had heard of.

Current price today is USD3,225 and the 30-day futures price is USD3,018 so the expectation is for continued downward pressure.
