I stand by my reasoning for inbox clearance threads.

Hence the hopefully youve changed your mind bit, since joos the one that did it (ie: youre taking the piss out of your own megapm idea)
 
Tbh when I see clear your inbox threads, I'm still gonna merge them with that megathread. It's just something to do.

I was more poking fun at the impersonal nature of a birthday megathread.

at least put the latest persons name in the thread title for it to work better when you do.

I was talking about the PMbox megathread (If that actually is going ahead ... seems like alby has made that decision already himself ... and if that's going ahead, adding the name temporarily while he's merging the threads would actually make the thread possibly useful, even tho I dislike the whole idea to start with)

So was I, and yeah I think that's the only way it would be useful, but I'm fucked if I'm doing that! We're volunteers, why make work for ourselves :?

Nope, I can't see it either. Do we need to be 'Friends'? Never realised there was a point to that malarkey.
 
There's a setting, "Make my birthday visible to others" or similar. Cos some people don't want folk knowing. You could just put in the wrong date though, then you'd get birthday wishes AND avoid the long arm of the law.
