Hamrful dose of Phenylephrine HCI?

I'm CWE'ing Codral Cold and Flu tablets, and along with the Paracetamol and Codeine in there, there's also the decongestant Phenylephrine.

The Phenylephrine is water soluble, therefore will be in with the codeine liquid.

At the moment I've got roughly 110mg of Codeine along with 60mg of Phenylephrine going with it, is 60mg a harmful dose to ingest?

what is the recommended/therapeutic dose of phenylephrine?
i really have no idea, but is there any reason you're CWEing these pills rather than paracetamol/codeine pills?
my guess is that any pleasant effect you get from codeine may be negated by whatever stimulant (?) effect the decongestant gives.
whether it is dangerous or not, i cannot give an informed opinion.
doesn't sound like a winner. i'd chuck it and get some panadeine if i were you.

Well, phenylephrine has been said to be no more effective than a placebo as a decongestant - following the PE invasion after pseudo was pulled off the market. It will increase blood pressure and a primary side effect is hypertension so if you were doing a CWE on a larger scale, I would definitely steer clear. It is freely soluble in water like codeine but unlike ibuprofen/paracetamol. But if you're only talking about ingesting 6 tablets or thereabouts, I wouldn't be too concerned. Don't make a habit of it though.

The reason why he is CWE-ing them because they are on teh shelves and no need to consult a pharmacist with them, I thought of this as well but like Ash said PE is very water soluble and doing a CWE on that amount will definitely be very harmful for u. There no good for a decent CWE.
