Hallucinations on the Buds

Hi everyone,
I've been smoking for just over a year now and I have only just towards the end of it begun to realise that my reaction to cannabis is unusual among my friends. When I smoke buds I get very visual effects, hallucinations. For example, once I was sitting outside near some wet grass. The droplets of water transformed before my eyes into white paint, then into beads of glass, then into pure light, then back into droplets of grass. Another time I had multi coloured diamonds come over my vision. I've also had everything transform into a sketchy cartoon. The most intense one I had I had been drinking, and was coming down from dex-amphetamines, and looked at the sky as it transformed into an ocean where a whale swam across and winked at me. Sounds great, but it can however be accompanied by the intense paranoia that I have gone insane and will never attain sanity again, that everything is a nightmare that I am having, and one time I had a panic attack because I thought my friend was possessed. This is all off of no more than 2 cones worth. What I want to know is, does anyone else get these cannabis induced hallucinations and is this a sign that I am person who is biologically susceptible to the adverse effects of marijuanna?

Cheers :)

Salutations Lezeli,

Apparently i'm one of those who don't experience these effects. It enhances mood currents but no reality distortions as obvious as that: the only "hallucinations" i can expect will be on the audition side and it's self-induced (e.g. it comes from me).

You're probably going to find more people like you who can relate to your description, i think i've seen similar posts before so that shouldn't be a problem.

=D

THC is a psychedelic and in high doses can make you hallucinate, maybe you are just more susceptible to its effects then other people. but yeah, things like this do happen. if you dont mind me asking, how much do you smoke and how old are you? that can be part of it too, i know when i was younger id get more "psychedelic" effects from it then i do now.

I experienced the psychedelic and hallucinogenic properties of weed when I was younger as well, however it may also be due to inexperience and a low tolerance with the drug considering the more experience you get with a drug, the older you get. I'm so used to the high now that I rarely "trip" on weed. It's usually all in my mind if I smoke too much.

I'm 21 and depends on my tolerance. At the moment due to taking a month long break I wont do anymore than 2 averagely packed cones in a night, when my tolerance is up I can do 4 over a 3 hour period. I have been told that I'm sensitive to cannabis before, perhaps could be a good thing (cheap smoker :p).

Salutations,

Although i believe it's much better to avoid becoming a "stoner" while still too young i'm also thinking a couple early experiences provide some kind of awareness which reminds me of baby puppies that got sterilized: we do this to them because we find that convenient when the animal's mating season arrives and he doesn't cause the sort of worries we get from another pet that was allowed to wander outdoors with his siblings and everything still attached...

Are there studies capable of telling me if any scientific project ever reflected on opening the cannabic door but being careful enough not to pass it until ready, at the age of adulthood, so to speak?... Well, i know i wouldn't expect any although in the good old days a father could give a cigarette to his curious son in order to teach him a lesson and that was fine. Too bad no serious/valid studies were realized when grand-pa worked as a logger at the age of 14 i guess! Yet the man got a successful family (with plenty of wealthy children!), etc.

So, i choose to consider it simply was a man's way back then to educate a son like that. Doing the same today would probably result in a lot more trauma if performed in front of state officials: our society can no longer trust people for a parental role as nobody is perfect enough it seems. Maybe there's room for nuances between those two extremes, go figure!...

I took a two week break from daily smoking, had two cones of high quality Jack Herer and had the most intense panic attack/tryptamine flashback. It was legitimately stronger than most trips I've had of recent times.

Sounds like you've never been a heavy smoker. You probably just don't have a very high tolerance.
