SWIM has taken MDMA about 6 or 7 times and had a strange experience the last time SWIM took it. SWIM does not take any other drugs and only uses MDMA when attending raves. SWIM always spaces her rolls at least 4 weeks apart.
Despite only weighing 100lbs and being relatively inexperienced with this drug, SWIM was stupid and took about 300-350mg of pure MDMA over the course of a couple hours one night. SWIM usually only takes 100-120mg. SWIM started to feel really jittery and off-balance, was sweating excessively and started to get a bit worried, so decided to take a break from dancing.
SWIM had previously only experienced mild visuals before, that went away after blinking. This night, SWIM experienced the following things:
- when standing in a small group of people, being unable to determine which person was holding her arm. Even when she concentrated, she was unable to tell
- unable to tell if person next to her was wearing a hat. Hat would disappear after looking away, then reappear the next time
- audible hallucinations such as hearing her name despite no-one in the viscinity knowing her name
- SWIM would hear and feel somone sit down on the couch next to her, but upon opening her eyes, would realize nobody was there
- feelings of anxiety and paranoia. SWIM was worried that other people were laughing at her
- unable to read small letters on cell phone screen
- difficulty transfering thoughts into speech
- trouble with facial recognition of acquantainces she had met and hung around with on several occasions
Over the next week, SWIM experienced:
- strange dream-like hallucinations when trying to fall asleep. SWIM could see other people in the room and actually feel them touching her.
- anxiety when being out in public, and avoiding making eye contact with others
- almost a complete lack of emotion. Usually SWIM feels lazy and more irritable for a couple days after taking MDMA, but this time SWIM felt completely empty, as if she was going through the motions of life but not actually experiencing these things. This lasted about 5 days.
SWIM finds this last thing to be particularly troubling. SWIM started to feel completely normal again after about a week. It has been 9 weeks since this has occured, and SWIM is considering taking more MDMA again this weekend. SWIM wonders if this is a good idea. SWIM thinks that her reaction last time is the result of having taken so much. But SWIM also worries about doing irreversible damage to her brain chemistry. SWIMs family has a history of mental illness.
SWIM would also like to know if her experience sounds like a normal experience for a high dose of MDMA. The pills she currently has are the same as the ones she plans on taking this weekend, and SWIM is worried that they might contain something else, even though the crystals look and taste normal.
SWIM thanks you in advance for your opinions and your help!
