Dan doesn't appear to be around with his Friday memes, so I thought I'd go with the Halloween theme instead...

Hope everyone has a good one. God knows I'll be turning off the outside lights & bolting the door to dissuade the trick-or-treaters.

Not really in the mood for this Halloween so am likely to hibernating with weed and kratom, I think.

It's either a very delayed comedown, or general misery that I'm broke and none of my best mates can make it out for raving tomorrow. Hrmpf.

Yeah I'm a big fan of the way Halloween costumes have just deviated in to dressing like a slut. Wholeheartedly approve.

Love the way the Church conveniently shifted All Saints' Day from May to November and hoped nobody would notice. And I love the way some British historians like to pretend that Guy Fawkes Night (aka anti-Catholic Bigotry Night) has no connection whatsoever to the fires which took place throughout Britain and Ireland on the 31st of October for centuries.

Wish we'd had one of those last night. The one night of the year the takeaway arrives 40 mins earlier than expected and I'm lurking in front of the door trying to see if it's the delivery guy or just kids. No we have no sweets we ate them all weeks ago.

Weekend tho! Started early and went round town on Thursday, spent all of yesterday recovering, and today I'm confused and keep thinking it's Sunday or Monday. Doing sod all tomorrow cos missus is at work but then has a week off so it's drugs and stuff after that. Yay!

Dilemma. I have drunk three quarters of a bottle of Scotch today, really casually. I've eaten breakfast biscuits, vegetable soup and bread. I have a tiny bit of scotch left, and I will soon need to go out and buy more food, which means more booze also. I have a limited amount of cash, but I could go as far as the supermarket and withdraw up to my limit if necessary.

Do I go to the local shop, switch to beer and be sensible? Or do I walk further and get some whiskey?

I could always pay with my card for whiskey at the local shop, but they have nothing exciting.

yes. interstingly enough 31st oct isn't the original day and the original day is 4th or 5th of november which coincides with burn a catholic night. it was weirdly warm yesterday alright.

Fancy accompanying me round Cork city for a few days? I know yer people are from up north and that, but it shouldn't be too traumatic. It would probably prevent me being arrested or sodomised too.
