now i know the half life of diaz is roughly 36 to 60 hrs meanin half of the active substance as left your body. so now to my question...if a person who has never had any benzoes therefore zero tollerance is it nesscary to take 3 or 4 pills spaced out thoughout the day? given diazepam has such a very long half life. why after feelin the effects for a few hours wears off an thus the need to take again when 1 pill should last at least 24 hrs before the the relaxing properties wear off. any thoughts on this would be greatly apprrlieated

Diazepam 10 mg (anxiolytic/anticonvulsant/muscle relaxant; onset/time to peak: 1-1.5 hrs; 20-100 hrs [36-200 hrs]†)

And because it has "peak" effects. These are the effects desired most but leave the body over time while being metabolized into other forms of the molecule. As stated the peak effects are 1-1.5hrs after administration so this is why when the effects cease to peak you wanna take another to get the desirable effects.

Personally I find Diazepam isn't as strong as alprazolam in its anxiolytic effects when taken under the equivalent to 10mg(Diazepam).

If you're looking for the maximum therapeutic effects from Diazepam then a dose of 20-40mg at once orally will cause no need for re-dosing in 1 day w/0 tolerance IME.

Personally I take 1 10mg in the morning before breakfast on the day I wanna be bennied out and I have no urge to redose. I also have a couple beers to top it off in the evening.

(I have 0 tolerance but sufficient experience/knowledge with most pharms)

femaletrouble, you've never taken diazepam before? So it might be good to start out at 5 mg and see how it makes you feel. It may make you drowsy so I wouldn't recommend higher doses until you know how you will react to it. Be safe.

Vallium is weak as fuck i have tooken 100mg and it only felt like maybe 2mg of xanax. but i guess some people react differently to different benzos.

Think it has to do with how it hits and just different effects from different benzos.

That being said I've eaten alot of valium after using xanax and it was far less effective.

Ahh good point. i guess when you are used to the quick hard hitting effects of Alprazolam, the effects of Vallium dont cut it since its much more subtle. maybe if i started abusing Diazepam first years ago i would have a different opinion of it :p

Diazepam has a weird effect profile, it has a very long elimination half life but rather short effects, because the diazepam would rather prefer to be in fatty tissues than your wet brain or blood. So the diazepam concentration in blood falls off rather rapidly but your body will still have all the diazepam in it - just tied up in fat instead of being "active".

That stuff stays in your system longer than weed Ive seen people fail piss tests for diazpam 3 week after taking like 10 of them, it shows up as oxeazpam or something on the lab tests but it does show a benzo and is enough to get one cut off of suboxone.

It has a biphasic half-life, with significant pharmacological effects for 4-6 hours at regular doses, and residual effects, partly from active metabolites, which may or may not be noticeable subjectively.
