Halcion Question?

Halcion (triazolam) is a short-acting benzodiazepene, similar to Xanax. I think it was one of the earliest ones developed, back in the 1970s. At that time it was widely prescribed as a tranquilizer. Now, it is usually prescribed for shorter-term insomnia (2 weeks or less), because patients become tolerant to it relatively quickly. It can be habit-forming, and can produce withdrawl symptoms if used regularly. It is illegal in Britain but can still be prescribed in the United States, though newer benzos are much more common. I assume the general effects are similar to other benzos, (sleepiness, poor motor control, synergy with alcohol, possible amnesia, etc.) but I've never tried it so I can't tell you how or if it is different from Xanax, Valium, etc.

my girlfriend was prescribed halcion to ease her anxiety about going to the dentist...i was just inquiring a little more about it because she took it and said it felt a little like xanax, but to a lesser extent...i was just wondering what other peoples experiences had been.
thanks a lot

It doesn't seem that active on me for some reason! I have been taking benzos for years and finally got my hands on some Halcion...I was excited to say the least. because this was going to be the first time I tried it! everery one I talked to rave reviews of this drug ,but it just seemed like a normal benzo to me. Given I was kicking dope,so that may have been the problem...but in my expierience it was similiar to about 3 mgs of Klonopin

My expierience with halicon wasnt the best. I think i took 2mg and in about an hour i was so tired i couldn't hold my eyes open. Is this what its like for everyone else too?

It might be strong in relation to its dosage size but it does not pack the raw power of Versed. I don't find Halcion that great. It's too short acting without being particularly strong. Xanax is still #1 in my book. It seems that with Halcion you're either passed out cold or not high enough.

^^^^^^
Alternity what are your experiences with xanax? I tried once but only got tired but i dont think i took a big enough dose.
Got any info about it like dosage and what effects there are?
thanks (sorry off the subject)

Well I usually only take xanax when I'm on uppers and I take them to go to sleep. SOMETIMES I find recreation out of these drugs when I take about 4mg. Usually though they just make me fall asleep which is pretty lame, but I do have some friends that actually find enjoyment out of being on this drug, but when they are on it... they just make fools of themselves...

im on halcion, .25mg for sleep, thats about all tis good for. i dont use it often, its one of the worst benzos as far as addiction/etc is concerned, and i have klonopin if i want a benzo buzz. works GREAT for comedowns, knocks you right teh fuck out. and yeah, its about 3x as strong as a roofie, per mg.

Apparently there are two kinds of people. People who APPRECIATE benzo's and people who DON'T. The best I can do is relate them to a fine wine. It's a very aquired taste. Some people don't care whether they're drinking XXX Jug Zinfandel or Aged Port, they're drinking to get drunk. It's kinda the same with benzo's (and why shouldn't it be, they're almost alcohol). Some people use them for comedowns and for sleep or to not remember. These people don't use them w/o other drugs and think they just make them tired by themselves. However, there are a few people who like benzo's for what they are. These people will opt for 1-2mg of Xanax, not 4-5mg. They like the actual FEEL of the drug. They don't just get 'tired'. They get more social, more euphoric, time speeds, perception changes just slightly (I say everything gets 'sharper'), food tastes better, more energy is noted. People who experience these effects really appreciate benzo's. For example, I can tell the difference between many benzo's after being fed them and without knowing exactly which one I took. They all feel slightly different. I like Xanax the most. I get more euphoric on it with more stimulation (yes, they increase energy in low doses). I think they're a great thing by themselves and I also think they go well with Opiates. If you just get 'tired' on them try a) taking less b)keep at it. I believe you can develop a taste for them. I have a few friends who don't like them and I have some who always did and who learned to. Strangely enough, I despise alcohol but benzo's are my second favorite drug!

^^^Beautiful post. I'll pop a few benzos to that. I agree with everything you said.
Benzos bring me to life. While other people take'em and pass out, I have the most productive days on benzos.
For me, one of the best feelings in the world is to try out a benzo that I've never had before. Recently I got a script of Bromazepam. One of the main side effects listed for this benzo is loss of balance. I wont argue wth that. 24mg and I am stumbling around like I'm drunk. It definately has some significant recreational value.
Something that really gets on my nerves is the reputation that rohypnol has...like it's some super-benzo. Imo, there's nothing special about it. Xanax is definately much stronger.
Klonopin is probbaly my favorite. I love the longer acting benzos.
Ativan, for me, is worthless.
Halcion is what Jeffrey Dalmer gave his victims before he cut them up and ate them.
Valium is nice.
Versed is nice too.
I think Chlordiazepoxide (Librium) was the first benzo ever marketed. Has anyone ever tried it?
Any comments on other benzos?

There are two people. People who take depressants
and get sleepy, and take speedy shit and get speedy. And people who take speedy shit and get sleepy, and take depressants and get speedy.
And then you have ppl who take depressants and speedy shit together.
