H bundle question

^ yeah...

there was some bust the dea made a few months back of like 20k "glassine envelopes" there was a bunch of different stamps too, i dont remember what they were off the top of my head. the ppl that are involved with bringing it in to the country will set up a milling operation and hire some low levelers to sit around cut the shit and make the bags. this is nyc/nj btw,

here in baltimore, no one sells stamp bags. its vials of "raw" which is just usually rocked up dope, sometimes its powdered tho. sometimes they come in bags too, like the mini ziplock...my one guy uses a bag corner from a sandwich bag, so everyone is different.

you can also get scramble dope in gel caps, im not gonna bother getting into the scramble thing cause its searchable. the only thing worth knowing is its really really cut up. its really good when you mix it with some raw. all that cut in the scramble makes the rush from the raw stronger.

^
Yeah, but who wants empty glassine bags, unless you're dealing. You could find a ton of empty bags in North Philly, everyone just throws them out in the street.

i used to drive to get stamps with my boy who lives in elkton MD, its like 30 mins form philly down 95...

we used to drive into wilmington de to get them, his guys used to bring them down from philly, these 2 rican dudes...

i used to hate having to open like 4 bags to get my shot, it made such a mess haha...the dope was pretty godo tho, and it was always a good size for the $, had some shit called drop dead, it was really good.

Oh yeah, those plastic baggies around the glassines are a bitch. The seal is burned in so you gotta cut them open. Frustrating when you're sick and in a hurry.

I've seen old heads rip them open with their teeth, get the glassine out, flick it to settle the dope, rip it in half, stick a small straw in, and snort the whole bag in one hit. They'll do all that in like 5 seconds while they're walking out the dealer's house. Fuckin' pros.

rachamim, do you have a degree from Heroin University, or what? ;)

Just kidding, very interesting info.

Yeah, he's probably the most informed person, in regards to heroin, on this site. I'm just glad he continues to post about it. He's posted most of the info already, and I'm sure it gets tedious from time to time, but a lot of people, including myself, have learned a lot from him. Thanks for sharing.

I'm by no means an old head, but I usually just do like you said if in a rush. Rip the tape (if there is any), flick bag to settle powder, rip the bag most of the way down, insert straw, sniff away.

I find that powder often gets stuck in nooks and crannies of the bag though, so usually I open the thing completely and make sure there is no hidden powder (unless in a rush).

"One should also add that bundles involving pricing as well. A bundle should never cost more than 70 for 10 dollar bags"

^^^
rachamim, in regard to this quote, the going rate in the Brooklyn area seems to be $80/bundle (very consistently, in my experience). I have heard of people charging upwards of $100 in nearby areas as well. :(

Rach- good info, interesting to learn the hx of NY.

Med Cab- i would have agreed with you about scramble up until a couple years ago. I took a really old guy out to cop, he needed a ride and I needed the hook. He knew all the eastern boys and where to go. He managed to get caps ($10) that were better than the vials of raw ($20) going around at the time. Only saw it that one time, but something I will never forget! The dude had been on methadone for years and nearly started my car on fire because he couldn't keep his eyes open. Knew where to shop though!

like many said before bundles in my area are 10 sometimes 11, 12 bags. I think it depends if the dealer just counts the bags wrong, or if they wanna hook you up for being a consistent customer.

The stamps are often done by the higher up dealers.

Although where I used to cop, the dealers would bag up the powder brown/tan heroin in clear (ziplock style) nick bags themselves. They used the same bags they use for $5 worth of weed. After bagging up the dope, they either melted the ziplock top of the bag or use a sticker to seal the foleded over bag again. And then use little rubber bands to put the bags in 'packs' of 10.

edit: as far as price it depends on if the dealer likes you, how well their business is doing, how much they make a bag, if it's their 'work' or if they're selling it for a homeboy, how fat the bags are and if the dealer is high/in a good mood. I've gotten 6 bags for $50, and 10 bags for $90...and one time I've even paid $200 for 20 bags . I don't give a fuck i don't need to dick size...i don't do heroin anymore anyway so it's no big deal to me.

Phrozen: Is that the film about Country Frank? If so, it might not be ego in saying that Drug Porn entry might have helped him get the deal since he had been trying for years without success. Then, after we ran that thread there was a blurb I saw in the Village Voice in NYC about internet chatter making him hot again. Cool if so. The man is defitniely a genius. If you haven't read the entry or other info on him, he was the guy who came up with the idea opf shipping Laotian #4 (UC Globe brand) back in dead Nam vet's coffins. Thatbecame the stuff of urban ledgend along with stamps, etc.

I had wanted to do one on Barnes but that snitch has enough help already. If it is ever done again I would like to talk about Boy George, 17 years old and buying 10 kis of #4 a week.

MedicineCabienet" First, are you who I think you are? Second, 20 thousand is nothing. When I was in the Bronx they got this stupid Dominican who was getting his Colombian in saturated in clothes. He stupidly ran a mill out of an upper class areaand was paying several neighbourhhod people (old neighbourhood of course) to do everything from recover the pwder to adulterating it, etc. They found , if I can remember correctly, something olike 60 kis in bagged wieght which is more or less 200,000 glassines. Rockefellar is a bit$% in NYC so he is dead and gone.

10 and 20 k of glassines is a regular purchase for many out of towners. It is not really that much in terms of a good dealer's stash. If you merely have 100 custo, mers, none of which buy every day, it is still incredible volume.

this shit is some fucking interesting shit. you make me want to do heroin now lol.

Rach. Yeah it's about Frank Lucas. Denzel Washington is playing him and Russell Crowe is the cop that goes after him. I first heard about him last year or so from your old thread, and I looked him up and found out about the movie. He has certainly led quite a life. There was an article in the Times about him. It was an update about how and where he's living now. Needless to say his life has taken quite a drop. He's working some minimum wage job in a supermarket I think, and his neighbors don't even know who he is. He also still maintains that he never snitched to get his time reduced. I don't know if I believe that, If he didn't snitch on the others in the commission(Nicky Barnes) I think he most likely snitched on the crooked cops.

As for Nicky, I never liked him. He just seemed to be in the right place at the right time. Not to mention that he snitched to get time off...

Oh, by any chance, do you know the name of that one NY heroin kingpin that supposedly escaped with millions? I think he got charged, posted bail, and was never heard from again.

I think med cab might be talking about this recent bust from last month.
http://www.dea.gov/pubs/states/newsrel/nyc062607.html

They shut down a heroin mill. 19 keys of dope, 150,000 glassines, and $320,000 in cash. It was on 31XX Fenton Ave, I'm not sure what part of NY that is.

Edit: That link is a good read if you're interested in the supply side of the business. It describes the operation to a degree and also says how much the workers made and managers of the mill.

Phrozen: No way man! That is fantastic! I have been away from the States for more than a year now but still thought I was up to date and now look! Great. Well he deserves it from my point of view. The man was a genious who had no other outlet in the Carolinas of the 60s. His folks were sharecroppers, etc. and so he made his fortune as many of my own people have, by taking it. Good for him. Now he is legit.

A supermarket? I had not known. the last piece was the New Yorker piece from a decade or so ago, maybe even older. That makes it all the better. Imagine having an intellect like that and bagging groceries!

You know, I personally despise snitches and had I even thought there was a chance, I would have never lionised him here. I do think it was more along the lines of his having enough dirt on the system in terms of corruption so that they went easy on him. In the nation where I am now, when you are in that position the police kill you. There though they more often give a slap on the wrist. If you study the times, you will see there were two extremes. Either you got silly multiple Life or just a few years, often for the same major wieght. It was just symptomatic of the convoluted times. Then again, maybe I am just overlooking obvious flaws in my admiration of him.

To that degree Barnes was a genius as well but there is no easy route with him. He admits what he did you know? When I first came to America his Quarter Bags were dropping addcits like flies. Everyone else was selling 2 dollar bags and his were 20, but were equal to 40 of the Deuce Bags. Underneath Marqueta on 116...aaah....so many years ago.

With Barnes aklso, it was a case as you say of timing but that is all it really ever is, you know? He already knew his connect from the hood. In Harlem to this day there is an Italian encalve which in those days was a rather large neighbourhood. Now it is less than 3 small blocks of mixed population. the timing though is that he caught his connect at a vulnerable time. They were doing time in the same facility and it gave the time for the connect to see Barnes as a human instead of a dollar sign, or just some eggplant as the Italians still call them. That Corsican product was the best of the best, labrotory conditions. Barnes got in on the ground floor but his buisiness was built entirely by him so you have to give him credit.

Many kingoppins have excaped. You have to jog my memory with a bit more. Hell, in my hood I can name 4 off the bat.

On the DEA link, that was the bust I was talking about. I know some of the lower level people and of course I know most of the stamps, save HIV. Almost all their stamps were green which was stupid if you think about it. Not creative at the very least and probably seen as a connective clue.

The reason they got popped was because it is an Ital;ian hood, Throgs Neck, in the Bronx. Most Dominicans including this dummy are very dark. Italians in NYC usually hate anything dark and as a rsult they watched him like a hawk and ratted him out fast. He only had a short run,I think 7 months.

Here's the link to the official movie website. It includes the trailer.
http://www.americangangster.net/

Here's a link to that article about how he lives currently.
http://nymag.com/nymetro/news/people/features/3649/

Ok, after a quick search, the kingpin that disappeared was Frank Matthews. He was the guy that supplied a lot of the east coast with heroin, and wanted to break the dependence that they(blacks) had with the Italian provided heroin. Basically, he wanted to change suppliers, as you know that at that time the mob had control of the heroin supply in NYC.
As the story goes, he got arrested for conspiracy charges, posted bail and supposedly disappeared with $20 million. He has never been heard from again, and some suspect that he was killed by the mafia.
