is there any reason they come in weird little paper envelopes or stuff. mine are a paper rolled over and sealed in cellophane thing.

is there a reason paper bags are used? I want to see how much is in the bag but dont want to let it degrade for a few days because im not doing it tonight

Can H be stored in airtight bags or does it need paper or osmething
 
Isn't heroin caustic? Does it like burn through the bags?

I don't know why to be honest, but that's my guess.

basically i want to take my shit out of its package but not do it, and i want to know how to reseal it in something it will stay safe in. Bag, jar, envelope, beaker???
 
To delve a little further...

If you have trouble with humidity, or for whatever reason your dope is moist, you should store it in an airtight container with some rice. It'll get the water out and dry out your dope. You could also use those small prepackaged dehumidifiers... You know, the ones that look like sugar packets and say "DO NOT EAT."
 
just put it in a zip lock bag and it will be fine. If you are just keeping it for a few days it isn't going to degrade unless it is exposed to extreme humidity or something. But a few days is not a big deal. Imagine how long it takes to get from wherever it was made to you. It is probably a few months, if not longer. So a few more days aren't going to matter.

As for why they are in those bags, I don't even know what you are talking about. Paper envelopes? If you mean glassine bags, like in Phrozen's avatar, I would guess because it is convenient. I don't know. I have seen it in little tiny zip lock bags, wrapped in plastic from grocery bags, in balloons, etc. I have even heard people here sya they get theirs in folded up lottery tickets. Why do dealers do a lot of the weird shit they do? Who knows?

ive heard random reasons from all kinds of ppl. Someone told me it was because the paper causes the shit to stay dry since its hydroscopic or somethin. others just say it sticks to plastic bags or something. I Dont understand why a notecard is used over a small ziploc.

I hang out around alot of ignorant people who like to think theyre hardcore, but I often know alot more about what they put in their veins and nostrils than they do. you guys don't have to worry too much about me and harm reduction, Im an avid erowid surfer bluelighter etc etc. but thanks for carin :)

Nice, from the looks of the bag. I'd guess you got in Northern Jersey/NYC. (Or anywhere near there.)

The glassines in Philly/Southern Jersey, west and south of that, tend to be longer and skinnier.

The reason people use different things is different kinds of dope too. Think about it, with how much powder is in a bag (about .1g) do you really want that tied up in the end of a grocery bag? Hell nah! That shit would be the most unsafe way of holdin it, theres barely enough powder to even wrap the shit around. tar on the other hand gets packed up like that from what they say bou tthe west coast, aint touched tar myself so cant say. It sticks to the sides of plastic baggies. it comes right out of the wax paper glassine bags tho. shits put in there cuz straight up thats the best way of doin it.

I dont like my shit to come with a plastic bag over it tho, never had that, it seems unnecessary and like theres too much goin into it. Ill take a rubber band around 10 or 12 of em anyday over that shit. I guess some people say that means less gets took out or whatever, but usually bag size aint a problem anyways. difference in region=difference in type of dope=difference in packaging of the product.
