H:Alternative methods of smoking?

Please note I don't use heroin and am asking this question out of pure curiosity. Why is heroin smoked off tin foil? It just seems like a hassle and a lot of product is wasted. Can it be smoked out of a G-pipe or oil burner? What about the vaporization of heroin? Wouldn't these be better then tin foil?

You have to be able to adjust the temperature very quickly and finely, too hot for too long will burn it. Plus, of course, convenience.

In order for the substance to avoid direct contact with flame, it has to be smoked through a medium. Foil is the easiest to obtain.

IMO smoking H is always a waste. If you have an aversion to IV, i would snort instead of smoking. Of course, I am biased, as the first opiate i ever experienced in my life was BTH IV. I would never recommend IV'ing anything to anyone, but the fact is that IV is the most efficient and therefore most pleasurable ROA for H. I'm certain that other people have differing opinions.
