I've quit cigarettes. Using Nicotine Lozenges.

My cough is very irritating. I've been walking a lot to help with getting the "junk" out of my lungs. Exercise helps in speeding up the cough-it-up process, but is irritating as can be.

Today I'm going to buy some Bronkaid or Primatene in hopes that it will speed up this process.

Has anyone had any experience or thoughts on this? It will be used short-term.

Forum search didn't produce any back-posts that I was able to locate.

I will give update on my experience later tonight.

Thanks in advance.

Additionally - (this is a HR question, so not sure if this is best forum for this discussion) --

Is it relatively safe to combine Bronkaid (Guaif. & Ephedrine) with Clonazepam (1.5 mg today).

I typically take Adderall XR 20 mg daily, but today and tomorrow I will be out. That is also another reason I'm interested in the Ephedrine part of the med.

TIA. Hope to hear soon. : )

just get the Mucinex. It's bringing extra "water" into the lungs and helping to clear away all the layers of tar and moistens the alveoli (where the blood picks up oxygen)

Bronkaid and Primatene and bronchodilators. They relax constricted airways, but they do not loosen up congestion. Mucinex is an expectorant. That helps you with mucus. But you still have to cough it up.

Your own lungs will clear themselves out over time unless you've developed emphysema or COPD. Just keep drinking lots of fluids to stay hydrated. And have somebody cup their hands and pound on your back to help physically loosen up the congestion.
