GTA 4 pre-discussion and trailer! (if you DON'T have the game yet)

is anyone else splurging on the ultra high end edition??? i heard it comes with a lockbox or something like that and framed art so im going to do it, i believe its 80$, i went for the ultra halo edition with the helmet too......

To anyone with a PS3 is it true you have to download the game to your console?

Also to who ever asked about the special edition I was gona get it then didn't now I'm kinda regretting not. You get the lock box, a duffel bag, some concept art, and I think you get a CD with some music on it or a making of DVD I'm not 100% sure.

The price I saw for it was closer to $100 and I saw no use for any of the stuff it came with. A book of art from the game? What would I do with that? A small lock box? Already have a much cooler stash box.... The soundtrack? I can download the handful of songs I'll want from the game.... Duffle bag? Already have one, and the fact it says "Grand Theft Auto 4" on it really doesn't make me have to have it. Yeah, I'll pass. Sound like a total rip.

ahh it's been leaked! so tempted to mod my xbox heh! Must resist though, can't risk getting banned from xbox live

anyway, no i didn't preorder the special pack thing, just the game. i'll be too busy killing hookers and running people over to care about a rucksack or a metal box.

it does look cool though. good resale value on ebay i bet. ;)

the box is pretty useless but i reckon the bag is pretty

and no matter what gta i play, i have so much fun i end up loving all the music in them, so the soundtrack here will be just spiffy too

great interview here:
It's not that Rockstar founder Sam Houser is a man of few words. Get him talking about Grand Theft Auto IV and the British-born executive producer of the GTA series will fill two hours of audio tape. He'll go on about how his game's Russian accents trump Hollywood's. He'll disclose the Nintendo-spawned inspiration for the game's interpersonal relationships. He'll discuss the tricky business of developing for two consoles simultaneously. He'll even vent about the previously taboo topic of the Hot Coffee scandal. Landing a sit-down with the notoriously press-shy Houser isn't so easy, but we were granted one in early January for EGM's GTA4 cover story. And here, for the first time, is the full interview...

there's gameplay footage online now i really can't wait for this!

Did anybody else hear about real comedians performing at the comedy clubs? Just another detail that will make this game amazing, or, the greatest game ever. Man, I can't wait to test out Euphoria by blasting somebody out of the Empire State with a shotgun.

I'm glad to see that hotwiring doesn't take as long as had been implied by preview articles.

I feared that a slow-down of the process might have ruined the frenetic fun of being pursued by cops, ditching your wrecked sportscar, hopping into any other vehicle available, and watching as the cop who was closing in for the arrest is left behind in a cloud of dust... or better yet, dragged under the wheels as you plough through a crowd of old people.

Simple pleasures.
