Grunge Music

So i've never been a fan of grunge/hard rock/metal music before starting heroin. I used to always be into pothead and psychedelic music but now i've become a walking cliche: A heroin addict who listens to nothing but Grunge and Hard Rock.

Seriously tho it's nice to finally learn to appreciate a genre of music that you've always hated. Some shit that i've been jamming non-stop recently: Deftones, Nirvana, Alice In Chains, RHCP, Pearl Jam, Metallica.

Funny how drugs do that. You can pretty much find any talented artist who likes the same substances as you and 90% of the time their music will be something you can grow to like.

It is strange just much a part of the whole ritualisation music really is. Cop, get home, crank the stereo, take a quick shower, prepare some good food AND then meticulously prepare whatever opiate/opioid I am about to consume. The choice of music is VERY important and it extends to my use of such ho hum substances like methadone. It takes only a couple of seconds to down that vile cherry methadose but maybe 45 minutes for the ritual.

Nirvana and heroin do seem to just go together. like peanut butter and jelly.

My college roommates kind of spoiled grunge for me. They played it non-stop,. It was too much of a good thing. So for getting high, I put on things from the defunct 4AD label. Dead Can Dance, Cocteau Twins, Coil, etc. that build these dreamy soundscapes.

I once had what I think was "cotton fever, " or maybe it was a bad shot. I don't know, but I still get physically ill when I hear that one album, the album I had been listening to at that time.
