Growing Mushrooms Advice Please!

So I have grown mushrooms before, with a reasonable degree of success...

However.. this time it is going terribly!

Off one cake I got THREE mushrooms and another just has one pin growing on it. WTF.

What could be causing this? The humidity is right, I fan them about 7 or more times a day and have been misting them about 4 times a day...

The only think I can think of is they just have 'natural lighting' right now rather than the 6500 kelvin bulb which was recommended... I am still waiting for it to arrive..

If anyone here could help it would be much appreciated! I cant be bothered to ask on the shroomery they are too busy masturbating over their 4 or 5 female members to be much help...

any insight would be much appreciated!

hey there
there are female shroomers? where where? :P

anyway back on topic. im assuming you have birthed the cakes, as you are talking about fruits and pins...

were the cakes fully colonized? did you roll / case them?

if the pining is not strong it can always be that something in the environment is not quite right. normally, id expect lighting to be the least of the worries, as mushies need very little light, and theres nothing better than natural light imho.
the problem might be a lack of moisture in the air, or lack of air exchange. try increasing the humidity in the fruiting chamber, and provide adequate and frequent air exchange.

it might also just be a matter of time. sometimes it takes more for some cakes to pin than others.... more info would be useful.

Temperature can be a big factor too, if your growing/fruiting chambers are too hot or too cold the mushrooms can't colonize/fruit their best.

thanks for all the input guys, it was this tho, they did fine in the end :D I need to learn me some patience!

cant rush the mush :)

glad it worked out for you in the end. post back some Trip reports if you try them, theres nothing like growing your own and enjoying it afterwards.
