I'm interested in trying growing for the first time in the spring. Growing at home isn't an option, so i'm going to try to grow in some spots I think are remote. Are there any good grow guides that cater to this method?

Woody areas far away.

If your backyard is secluded like mine you could pull it off. I did, but most of my plants were male and my only female was stunted and didn't do much in time.

I'm gonna plant in spring this time though, I did it in june last time.

A friend of mines strategy was clusters of 3 spaced 2yd apart to conceal the grove in a heavily wooded area close to home. The problem is your grove may get discovered by people.

I just planted a few lil girls on the side of a hill that no one would run through in the woods.

Make sure to scout for poison oak or ivory, you don't want that getting on your buds.

Make sure that you don't grow on someone else's property without them knowing. It would be pretty shitty for someone to get busted over someone else's stash that they knew nothing about.

I have no idea whether you are intending to do that or not, just getting it out there :)

Make sure you don't have to pass through others property in view! A friend of mine had his plants found and destroyed by the cops because a neighbor called the police after seeing him walk back to the spot.

make sure you place fish hooks on nylon line hanging from the surrounding trees at eye level, so as to keep lil wandering critters away from
where they shouldnt be.

keep an AK near the grow area too

Dude.. i smoke that much??!! Yeah.. enough that i never realized to think to grow off the highway behind my house.. who the fuck jumps a fence into someone's backyard coming from the highway man?? no one will go there and i got a decent amount of room to work with,,, time to go get some soil boii!! :D

[edit] And there is a fresh supply of water in the spring and fall and most of summer too actually =]

lucky for me thats no problem.. i get no adverse effects from that type of plants man haha.. runs in the family,, the males are immune to the ivy and oak poison plants man :D

I say go for it, you'd probably have a pretty good case for plausabile denyability with the LE if you did get caught checking your crop too.

Plan on having at least three grow areas far apart from each other. One may get discovered, one may get fucked up by pests, one may survive till harvest. Guerrilla growing is not particularly easy, and you have to remember, if you can find it, so can someone else. SWIM used to grow many crops about a full days hike (10 hours scrambling through the brush and mountains) from "civilization." But, even then, some were discovered occasionally over the years. GPS' are your friend when growing far from home. Find hardy outdoor strains suitable to your climate's location.

Also LEO find most grow areas because in the summer, as harvest nears, most native plants may be dry and yellow and there are your big, bright green plants, which stick out like a sore thumb. Good luck and overgrow the government....

It all depends.

How many plants do you want to plant? If lots then you need to go far away. if you have a car even better. You dont want it to be easy to find, or for people to know whos they are.

Last year i was scouting a spot out where i wanted to plant in the trees. Not very far away from home. Just a seed or two. And where i was looking i found a bucket already carefully placed up top in the trees haha. a garbage pail full of soil. No plant, but clearly someone had been here, maybe the year before. Its probably other growers who would be most likely to find your crop.

Id advise against planting more than 1 or 2 plants in any one area if there is even a chance of people being around. Its much easier to disguise 1 plant than it is a bunch, and less smelly.

like alanzs said previously, guerrilla growing isn't easy. when scouting for sites, take into account how far you'll have to carry your water and nutes and how easily it can be accessed. You want a site that is very hard to access, but not impossible (you gotta get in and out). Some prefer growing on public lands, it keeps some messes from happening if the grow is discovered by LE, but adds other challenges. You'll want to hedge multiple small sites spread out over a large area. This will lead to more chance for stealth and success. It's also wise to note that marijuana is easily located from above in most of the united states. Find a spot that is unlikely to be notice from above, while still receiving the max amount of sunlight possible.
I've never has a successful guerrilla grow. I've tried several seasons in Florida...but years ago. Twice our grow was discovered and the plants were stolen a week or two from harvest. Unfortunately, this is not uncommon, even though we were growing on private land very far from civilization or society.

the best thing to do,is make shure you can see sun directly shining on were ur planting it,so plant ur seeds and whatnot when you see direct sun hitting the patch of dirt ur mustering up in ur head....whats the point of putting a seed were sunlight cant find it,u might as well grow weed in a cave ul be just as pissed off

Thanks for the tips. I only plan on growing for personal consumption though, just a few plants. Multiple grow sites are a good idea too. I already have a few in mind that I think might be successful, with streams close by for water.

Just another reason to look forward to spring :)
