Grinders?

I do not recommend Sharpstone grinders. I've dealt with grinders for years and Sharpstone ones, the teeth love to break. If you're serious, I would spend the money on a titanium one, though there are some aluminum ones which are good. That or use a coffee grinder.

I find that coffee grinders separate too many of the trichomes and you end up losing a fair few of them.

Buy a Chromium Crusher Grinder. They are fantastic. Make sure to buy an extra plastic ring or two, though, they tend to break but can be found for cents.

Be sure to get a 4 or more chamber grinder. You'll love watching the kief collect.

And to answer your main question: YES - I would go metal for sure.

With that said, this topic has been covered several times. Please use the search engine or check out the directory thread sticked to the top of the forum.

I have a 2 piece sharpstone and I love it. Collecting kief is pretty cool, but I'd much rather just have the crystals mixed in with my weed and smoke it. When I want to get high, I want to get fucking high. The grinder helps me in my quest :) It's also real portable.

Electric coffee grinders for the win.

- Never jam
- Kief collects on the top dome
- Busts up super fine if needed (for butter, pipes etc) or much coarser
- No sticky icky lost

Haha, i would use that if i made a lot of gourmet marijuana food things, which i don't as of yet..it's an aspiration.
The bud I've got right now is super dense, I'm really hurting for a grinder. If I did ever feel like getting one i'd go for metal just because of the multiple chambers, but I've never had a problem with plastics being too rinky dink

^You can make a makeshift grinder by getting a shot glass, putting your herb in it and then cutting the weed up with scissors in the shot glass. I've seen people do it, it works pretty well.

The plastic ones are garbage, since keif tends to stick to plastic, and the plastic ones don't have a keif catcher.

Definitely get a 4-piece metal one. I'm not convinced that the brand name ones are worth the extra cost though.

my friend has a metal grinder, and his doesn't really grind up the bud very good anymore. the edges seem to have become dull. i had a plastic one that i absolutely loved until mom made me throw it out. it was so efficient too. it actually came free with my vape, and even had a little storage place attached to it too. a friend told me not to waste money in a metal one as eventually they will become dull. i'm sure there are some nice ones that don't get dull quickly though.

plastic grinders don't even bother with them. chip & dull easily.

I've got a sharpstone but flipped the magnet wrong so the lid is reverse polarity but it still works wonderful.

any decent metal grinder will do the trick doesn't matter if it's got a kief catcher that's up to you. comes in handy if you smoke lots but I don't as much so I just finger bust to save all dat thc

Personally, I wouldn't hesitate to spring for a nice grinder vs a cheap/off-brand one.

I have a "Diamond Grind" myself and love it. I suppose SpaceCase is the "best of the best", but I think "Sharpstones" are probably the best overall value, they aren't quite as expensive as a SpaceCase and IMO just as good.

^^this x100

I've had a sharpstone for 3 years and it still works just as good as day 1. I know a few ppl with space cases and theyre not as great

I bought a space case but stopped using it after a week or two, grinding obliterates teh trichomes and terpenes are released from the bud. although it takes patience separating the caylxs one by one its worth it for the end result. rolling up a spliff of pure calyx is heaven. :)

stupid question but has anyones magnet fell out of your sharpstone & then you go to put it in only to put it in upside down therefore reversing polarity. now the lid won't stay on & I can't get the magnet back out to flip it. am I fukd? the thing still works but it's portability is all but lost

i have had my sharp stone with zero problems now for years..... still yields amazingly well......
