I'm Bipolar I & KS/47XXY.

I was a volunteer with the Rangers in Black Rock City for a few years and continue to Ranger for Burning Man regional events with a focus on Green Dot situations. In addition I was with Gate, Perimeter, & Exodus at BRC. Both kicked me off upon learning that I was Bipolar after asking for help when I was suicidal.

Currently I'm pursuing a MD-PhD for Psychiatry.

I have experience with the following: Ayahuasca, Cannabis, Cocaine, DMT, Hydrocodone, Hydromorphone, Ketamine, Kratom, LSD, Mescaline, Oxycodone, and Psilocybin.

I've only ever been consciously addicted to Nicotine. Other than that I have only ever felt physical withdraw symptoms to a few things, but never accompanied by a psychological desire to continue. With the exception of Nicotine, everything else was a walk in the park.

I'm primarily interested in children, adolescents, and psychedelic studies/research.

Hello Chaos&Harmony - thank you for the great introduction!

Being Bipolar 1 as well, I can understand how it can put your whole life in halt. With experience in the extreme highs and lows, and an interest in young people, I can imagine you'd be a very apt candidate for the psychiatric field. If you'd like, check out our Mental Health sub-forum. I think you'd be a great asset to this forum in helping others, like you do, or at the very least be able to further your learning.

Nicotine is a tough one to kick. It's the only consistent substance I've been using for the past 6 years as well. You have great goals and seem like you have a lot to live for, and maybe once you achieve your dream job everything else will fall into place. Although one may feel like they need to rush into sobriety, it really doesn't happen like that and will take some time.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Welcome to Bluelight :)

Hey Chaos&Harmony !

I always wanted to do the Burning Man thing but the rigors of the desert and my age/asthma kept me from fulfilling that dream. I'm looking forward to your input here at Bluelight.

Welcome !
