Didn't realize there was a place for new members to introduce themselves until just now, I just registered a week or so ago so I think I still qualify.
I have found much useful information on this site over the years and have found at times that I can relate to the people on this site more than I can relate to the people in my "real life". I finally decided to join because I've been lurking for a couple years now and feel like I've gained much experience over the years and can contribute in a positive way to this website.
I've always been an outsider of sorts and feel quite at home here amongst the other outsiders. I play music for a living (a profession full of people living on the edge, misfits, and beautiful crazy people) and it is the love of my life, I've always had an insatiable curiosity about mind altering chemicals as well, if it weren't for music I do believe the drugs would have done me in by now. I have gone through some very dark periods over the last few years and this site has been a refuge for me at times. I'm in a better place now than I have been previously but I find it a constant struggle to keep my "darker" interests/obsessions/addictions in check, this site along with music and a handful of other things/people have helped me considerably.
