Hi everyone :) I just stumbled across this forum in a google search when I was researching music festivals (I'm doing creative writing at uni and I'm writing a story about the influence of music festivals on subcultural movements, I'm such a nerd but at least I get to write about interesting stuff ^_^)

I'm a bit of a part time doofer, and I used to be a club rat but no so much these days. I'm a fan of the noisy chicken parties like psyfari and monster mash (very sydney based so a little pointless to specify but thats cool right?).

I spent 2 months last year in south east asia and I'm going back at the end of this semester to teach english in cambodia which should be pretty cool (did I mention I was studying to be a teacher?). I'll be back just in time for rainbow serpent festival :)

anyway I thought I'd say hello, I think this is a groovy website, n it reminds me I should go check out my australiens account every now and then as well.

I apologise if this hasn't made much sense to some people, but I tried!!!

Wicked!! My mates put those parties on :) Were you at the Pirate doof in May? Will I see you at Monster Mash?

Oh and welcome to Bluelight! Be sure to check out the Doof Thread in the Australian Social & Events forum.
Enjoy your time here :) <3

I dig it!!!

Welcome! Wow! Trust me,you make TOTAL sense. I live in the USA so Festivals are probably a bit different from the magnitude of what you have seen. There is a Festival in the Tennessee that I have been to almost religiously(for lack of a better word) since it began. There is a spiritual conductor that runs through the very being of every person at that festival. I have been so down and out,yet once I make it to Bonnaroo I feel connected to HUMANITY and all who are there and to nature and most of all the healing power of MUSIC!!!
Glad to have you! I hope to see you around and talk with you more!!
You should definitely check out the following forums:

It's always great to see more Australian's becoming part of the Bluelight community :)

As our wonderful n3ophy7e mentioned, the Doof Thread will be right your alley! :)

If you need a hand with anything, feel free to PM me or any of the other moderator's and we will do our best to help you out.

n3ophy7e nice to meet you!! I might have seen you around as I know a couple of people from "the village" as well that put the parties on. I wasn't at the doof pirates unfortunately but a couple of my friends went and they had a seriously groovy time!!

I'll definitely see you at monster mash, I'm yet to decide on my outfit. Last year I went as the devil (well I wore a little top hat with devil horns and I had a pitch fork) and the year before that I went as the mad hatter. Dress up doofs are the best!!!

Thanks to everyone else for the lovely warm welcome :D I'm getting a lot out of this forum already!!
