Apologies in advance if I've botched the New Member Intro...I'm a new member. I am a writer living in Los Angeles: two dreams that came wonderfully true. I'm on a fact finding mission like most of you probably are, because I feel if I can understand the 'why, how and what' of my addiction, I can, in the words of the Eagles 'Hotel California, find the passage back to the place I was before.
I actually don't want to erase the last 4 years: I've learned alot about myself and met some brothers in arms...who I care for. But, I'd like to at the least stand on a firm summit overlooking the valley of the dolls, or the Mad Tea Party as I call it and then, reassess the next step. Thank you for letting me explain via pieces of movies and books....its how I always get through the tough times. If I can in turn be of service to you, let me know.

Lovin' the Eagles reference :D

I love the lyrics to that song, it always painted a strong metaphor to addiction and hedonism in my mind. Its good to see you are aware of your addiction and want to learn as much as you can about it. That shows a healthy mind, in my opinion.

I recommend you check out two forums specifically. The Dark Side is my first suggestion, its a forum dedicated to support, education, and recovery.

My other suggestion of focus is Other Drugs, as they have a great collection of harm reduction information, and if you are an IDU (Injection Drug User) the information there can be life-saving.
