I get friend requests with no subsequent pm from accounts with zero posts quite often. I'm not sure what the motivation is for this? I never accept them but it does make me wonder wtf there up too. Especially when no pm is sent with it. I had 2 separate ones when I logged in this morning. I know you guys curtailed there ability to send pm which I think was a good call. Maybe time to do the same with friend requests?

Do you never get +1 friend requests on Facebook from people you have no idea who they are? Maybe your just really likable and a lot of lurkers / new users want to be your friend.

Just delete them - or ignore them completely.

Haha That made me smile. Thanks Beerlove. I guess I just jumped to the worst conclusion. There trying to get rep to fuck other users over by saying hey look a longtime member is my friend you can trust me. But yeah I ignore them. I guess I was just wondering if it happens to other members or just me

I usually just ignore them and don't accept the request. Even if they do PM me something legit my friendship on here must be earned, not just accepted by anybody. That reminds me, I need to go through my friends list again and remove anybody on there that isn't deserving or my friendship. ;)

I really didn't know that your friend list was visible from your profile (just checked) - surely this should be private ? Is there any functionality of a friend list? Actually, just reading my list and got the warm fuzzies - only spoke to the One in the last few months though so need to be a bit friendlier :)

Tommyboy - Could you maybe update the message for when your removing contacts. 'Your friendship with x has been broken' (insert cry emoticon)

Dam - now I'm paranoid about removing people from the list, do people read them, can I see who I have befriended, can I see who has removed me as a friend?

1. Maybe
2. Yes - you can see who your friends are through your profile (but not who initiated the "friendship" as far as I am aware)
3. Yes - if you remember adding them.

Are all greenlighters / noobies seen that way? (re:friend request)Meaning that they're just trying to get a strong list of friends, to build a false cred. o Rep.? Or is it when it's out of the blue, I have no clue of who you are that's suspicious? I've sent my 4 friend requests w/o a msg. attached. Is that a no-no? Curious.:?

If you are friends with someone & they remove you, you will see this when you edit your friends list:

its not an infraction or anything wanting to be friends with somebody but its up to the other person to decide what the greenlighters motives are but for the most part I usually accept the reqest then if I don't hear back from them after sending a message I usually delete them if they don't have any activity after a week or so or PM me back.

Makes sense. I would think it would be easy after awhile, to know who's.... "Real" or has ulterior motives. Good info.
