These two absolutely kicked ass
I just finished breaking open the head by daniel pinchbeck, so excelent. I first hear him speak on a radio program and thought he was a pretentius, now after I finished his book I have deep respect and a much greater, different, undesranding of contemporary shamanism, psychedelic culture, plants and compounds. I also finish terence mckenna's True hallucinations, what a bizzare story, I loved this one too. Its quite interesting to see the changes he and dennis went through at La Churrera. beautifully written, the journal entries afre filled with the strange powerfull allusiveness the mushroom conveys. And their trip is most changed by the mushroom.
(I also got Archaic revival by terence too, but have not finished it. It's his "raps" about everything social, chronical, and otherworldly condensed into about 250 pages. So heavy to read, Much different than hearing him speak about it. much different than True hallucinations, or food of the gods for that matter. I cannot wait till I can get my hands on the invisible landscape, the mushroom grow guide(and the technology to produce some deliecious fungus))

i fuckin hate reading when im high.
its aight for a little while until you notice you dont remember anything what you just read and got to read it all over again...five hours just went by and youre not high anymore...theres a hell of a lot better shit to do than read when youre high. Im high I wanna chill, wanna see some people, get some shit goin, i dont wanna be sittin there with my brain all up in Soul on Ice you save that shit for when you got nothin else better to do or you wanna know more bout something.
most books and shit that people are writing nowadays is so shitty that you gotta keep it in the closet for when yo' toilet paper runs out. I dont lie, there aint a lot of people out there who can write good stories anymore like folks used to.
And when you read that shit when you high it just makes it jump out in your face how bad it is and im sittin there like shit, now i gotta smoke another one just to forget how i wasted even 10 minutes on that shit.
