gravity bong + plastic question.

I made one out of a plastic two liter bottle. I made a hole in the cap and put foil with poked holes in it (I don't own the traditional metal socket used for it). My question is, when lighting the weed in the foil, will the plastic cap melt causing me to inhale plastic fumes?

Just made a grav bong for the first time this weekend under similar conditions, we just happened to use a water bottle instead. I found that I never really seemed to be inhaling plastic fumes, as far as I could tell. The only problem that would occasionally crop up is that the plastic would melt and close a hole, and then would have to be melted open again. But not really a big deal.

i believe in one of them it's mentioned that hot smoke going through a plastic stem can cause enough plastic to be melted to potentially cause problems after extended use. i imagine the same would be true for hot smoke pulled through a plastic cap, or even the plastic "bong"
