NEMD Grateful Dead Appreciation Thread

why don't you two go and jack off all over your lame ass jazz albums

i like rock n'bluegrass music

ratdog is good,deal with it

I enjoy seeing you dead heads bicker back and forth in here
Amusing, it is :]

we're an extremely annoying, over analytical and judgemental fanbase when it comes to them.

same goes for panic fans and phish fans.

And pigpen's death was the best thing to happen to the band? You're horrible at the dead. But that's ok.

pigpen was a blues king, there's a difference, phishphag

more like a drunk with a mic most of the time, 30+ minute lovelights are so retarded

and i love donna, well during '76-'79

may '77 and '76 jerry band harmonies are so fucking heavenly

have any of you seen how Donna can be criticized ?!?

i think the donna thing is a shame. i think she sounded fine as a background singer. it's when she started sharing leads everything went to shit, and the bands goofy ass lackadaisical attitude towards shit allowed it to continue instead of someone just unplugging her damn microphone when it became apparent she just couldn't hear herself onstage. mind you, this wouldn't happen today, with modern in-ear monitoring systems.

good point.

it's pretty well documented that from '72-'74 she couldn't hear her self

don't think that really justifies going wacko during PITb and GSET

then again, during those songs i find my self mirroring the banshee cries

it's fun, you should try it

favorite ten years, kinda in order and 5 shows that immediately come to mind

doing this for no other reason than to kill 15 minutes, for some reason i'm off today and bored as fuck

1977(5/21/77, 5/22/77,5/8/77, 6/9/77, 6/7/77)

1984(10/20/84, 10/28/84, 4/26/84, 12/31/84, 10/18/84)

i'm going to listen to an '84 show now, something i've never heard,4/21/84, although i more than likely have heard it, i worked for a year cleaning grocery store floors and would usually listen to at least one show a night, 6 nights a week, i miss that job, the pay sucked and all but no co-workers and minimal supervision

i was sad when i found out there would be no gratefulfest at NLPQ

but something just as powerful and 1/2 the distance away has been born

this is going to be awesome

cornmeal is a fucking hot band

full bar service, shit that's going to suck if byob is not welcome

looks like the poster hanging up in the pawn star's office

without that poster hanging, i would consider all those guys losers, but...

hell ya jerry is the man. if it werent for the music of that band, i never would've gotten through highschool and i wouldnt be here today. and its still some of the most emotional music i hear. i salute you, jerry
