I have read many post on how to banging speed and I know that the best places to use are the wrist and inner elbow. I am just wondering if anyone has any views on using the veins on the top of the hand. Are the good to use or are they too small?

^brainrape, youre right about the vein in youre wrist rolling about, but if you make sure you tie off really, really tightly then it stays put,at least with me it does anyway^.
Actually, I don't use a tourniquet at all and I can hit both my hands and wrist (and the rest of me) with minimal problems, it's just a tad bit more effort to hit in and around the hands. Personally I see no reason for that at all since it is so easy to hit much larger and less "sensitive" veins that are also out of public sight, but thanks for the advice anyways...
