Good old diazepam is medically overrated

I like valium alot better then ativan or xanax. It's a very relaxing benzo. Everyone reacts differently to different benzos. Ativan does nothing for me even at really high doses.

Shit, that's bad, what how long was you on them, and what dose when you came off and ended up in a psych hospital, and you mean it's happened more than once?
Yes a lot of times. I’ve been on them since 2007, maybe a year or two longer. I was a heavy drinker and my dumb ass, not knowing anything about benzodiazepines thought they were a miracle drug for horrible anxiety and panic attacks ( they are at first) and I was able to talk to people without being drunk ( social phobia and low self esteem) any way since 2007 I was prescribed them sooooo 15 years on them.
Those and drinking fucked my life up as well as other drugs I would take ( made horrible life choices, especially in withdrawals, and I get the withdrawals on them too, plus psych issues to begin with) thx again.

social phobia and low self esteem

Yeah I have that, benzos helped so much at first, the valium made the social anxiety worse in the end, sorry to hear you've had it so bad with the drink on top

Good luck if you do look into Flumazenil, it's still early days as a treatment with it though, I've also read about an implant I can't remember what it's called, it wasn't Flumazenil, that's an injection, but the benzo treatment implant for paws also comes in tablets, I can't bloody remember the name, people travel from all over the world to a specific country to get it and it needs replaced every 4 months, fucksake what was it that's going to bug me now lol, if I find out I'll let you know

Nor me, I wanted to try those for ages, then got a box and was eating one after another thinking these are fucking shit, I fell asleep in the end after taking other benzos ontop lol, didn't buy them again

As others have stated, I think with benzodiazepines as well as opiates, long term chronic treatment ends up potentiating the conditions they were initially used to treat. You rarely see anyone in more pain then someone who is chronically treated with opiates and you rarely see someone who
is more anxious then someone who has been chronically treated with benzodiazepines.

I also get that people need relief from chronic pain and anxiety.

Anxiety is treatable including social anxiety by changing how you think.

Oh yeah I forgot about that, you're right, I was referred to a pain clinic for my fibromyalgia and they told me not only does your body get used to the opioids which I already knew but they change the signals in the central nervous system which makes you more susceptible to pain

Have you gotten your Vitamin D levels checked?

progressiver GABA damage is something well known in ethanol/benzo users. imo they are not suitable long term. which pains me, because they are so relieving for PTSD, anxiety etc. I've had to make my life over GABA free with only kava and muscimol because of the damage that has occurred in me :(

I have been looking into trauma quite a bit lately.

This person has some things you may be interested in. He has a few books out and is pretty respected.

Don't know, I had a load of tests done before getting diagnosed with fibromyalgia to rule stuff out, so maybe

I could ask my doctor next time I speak to her as I don't go outside much so don't get it off sun as much as I should
I would insist upon it. My handle neversickanymore comes from being very sick with fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, sarcoidosis etc. This was awhile back but they told me it was a chronic illness and could only be treated and not cured. Well that was not acceptable to me so I cured myself, under a doctors supervision and now I’m never sick anymore. im almost ten years down the road symptom free.

Please get your level checked!!

If you come back low please PM me as I will have some advice you may find extremely helpful.

No way, that's mad, but that's really interesting, I got told I won't get worse and I have, I'm not even on anything for it as I can't take antidepressants or pregabalin and that's what's prescribed

I'll tell her about it and ask for the test then as she might not know, thanks for info

on my bookshelf, been through 5 years of EMDR at this point. it is very effective.

I used to dislike Valium, but Etizolam was just the one for me. Can not beat it. To the point, I was grabbing whole handfuls of about 30 1mgs and dry swallowing whilst getting into my car to drive to work.

On valium now, which I do love, but once you take it every, like with every Benzo tolerance, build up like a bitch and the only way I can get any enjoyment out of it is to add in a handful of Alprazolam or a bottle wine... or 2.

Not looking forward to my next withdrawal in a few months when I move away from OTC benzos.

Although last time I came back from Mexico to Turkey after taking valium and Alprazolam for 6 months every day in Mexico, I didn't get that bad withdrawal after quitting cold Turkey, it was really, really strange.

Meditation and long-distance running make withdrawal honestly twice as quick and so much more pleasant. That along with healthy eating and no drinking. Think I've been lucky though, maybe one day I won't be.

Being from the UK it's just mad hearing of country's with OTC benzos, I used to think it would be so easy if that was allowed her then on the other hand would just cause loads more addicts and people struggling even harder to come off them

imo the RC benzo scene is even more terrifying. I've got a friend who got heavily up on clonazolam. He had to approach a psych for an emergency taper after running out. they had to start him at 140mg diazepam, and he was still experiencing zaps/electrical issues/generally in fucking misery.

Yeah it is scary as some of those RC benzos are fucking insanely strong, like the clonazelam, not tried it but read alot about it, how long was he on clonazolam? Is he off valium now?

Someone told me about someone he knew ended up taking RC benzos that was so strong he fell asleep, or passed out in the same position all night and ended up needing a wheelchair as he couldn't walk, I can't remember what he done, it was bad and just from being in same position for ages, I don't think it was long term but that's fucked up, after hearing that I remember not ordering the stuff he was on about, that and the website wanted a minimum spend of a stupid amount so I would of needed to buy a whole pick and mix of random RCs and risk them being took by customs, I didn't want to loose the money or get a love letter or both lol
