Morning all you fine folk..

Been having a bit of time away from BL as been mega busy at work and also had to go into hospital for about a week for another operation on my ankle.

Hope everyones doing well and having fun. Hope the dramas haven't been too mental since ive been away :)

Its nice to be back and chat to you good people again.

Take care guys and girls and stay safe....

Much love....G.. <3 <3 <3

Hello brother. Good to hear your doing ok. Isn't life as a paramedic always hectic? Like being a nurse on steroids? Hope your ankle is healing ok, what did they do to it? Thats my area orthopaedics.

Its actually been relatively drama free lately. Feel free to provide some if you are bored :)

He bro good to see you still here....
They just took some of the pins out mate. Did a few scans and shit as well. Tge bones healing nicely but there extensive ligament and nerve damage still to heal. Luckily work has an excellent physio that i can see for free.

Yeah paramedic work is pretty stressfull at the best of times so i had the brilliant idea of taking a 6 month secondment ro headquaters to work on the adrenalin trail (youve probably heard about it... Examining whether giving IV adrenalin as part of the asystoli protocol during cardiac arrest may actually be doing more harm than good due to the massive increase in the odds of a catastrophic MI in the following hours due to overstimulation of the heart. Anyway theyre doing double blind placebo tests to see tge effects of either adrenaline or saline. ....

Anyhoo....the deal was that i coukd do that but would have ro remain on call in the trauma car just incase. I thought that would be ok cos they hardly ever get called out but this last week has been mental. Plus tge very nature of a rapid response specialist trauma car.means that when hou are called out the jobs tend to be nasty.

Hows things gping with you? Take it you back to work after that nasty bug you had the other week?...

Im not really the drama sort mate but I'll see what i can do..lol!!:)

That sounds quite interesting the adrenaline trial. I've not heard about it but i'm not an ED nurse. Well not yet. I would like to do Emergency Department one day but i need to do rotations in cardio and respiratory units first.

I was back at work but hurt my back (looks like i have done a disc) moving a patient. Looks like i will be off for the better part of a month. Luckily i did it at work so i am on full pay and all treatment and diagnostics are free. Getting an MRI on Monday to see exactly what I've done to myself.

Take care brother. Good to see you posting.

They have this thing at our place called "alternative duties" and whenever frontline staff have some sort of injury that woukd prevent them from doing their substantive role out on the road but isnt so severe that they couldnt do a desk job they make them come in to headquarters and do some kind of shit office work unril their fit to go back out again. Its universally despised by paramedics, technicians etc. as it just a way of getting some free work out of you as oppose to paying you full sickness pay to sit at home on your arse....

Hope your back gets better soon mate....what are you taking for it?

Mobic and ibuprofen + codeine. Got some valium for the muscle spasms. I have oxys 40mg ER and 10mg IR which i took the first 4 or 5 days but i can get by without the oxy now. I am pretty sore still but i am wary of taking the oxys for too long. I will save them for a rainy day.

Haha!! Reminds me of a funny story in a club a few years back when I was tipping the scales at a rock solid 260lbs and when I'd finished having a slash in the urinal and was washing my hands I overheard this kid say to his mate...

"Fuck me if you tested the piss in this trough it would be 99% testosterone ..."

Felt like chinning him but it was so funny I had to laugh :)
