Thanks for commenting. Yeah I'm starting to really freak out a bit. No benzos in 4 months now nd I'm feeling it. I never heard of Urbanol (clobazam) thanks I'll look it up. My docturds' issues is scripting benzos or anything else that contraindicates with my oxy script. And BTW I take a mere 5mg 3x a day of oxy for pain management. I'm worried the beach' is going to cut off my oxys next. And to be honest I think she's on something or a bunch of stuff as shes pretty odd and often has a different mentality when I see her her every 3 months. Fck, she might be pounding down gummies at work, who knows ! I say go for it but don't fck with my damm scripts. One thing i have noticed is that as soon as you start mentioning alternative meds or talk about meds like you have some knowledge of them then they try and cut you of immediately or try to tell you in some nice way they cant help you lol, well so is that way here i have noticed but then if you take drive just across the train tracks and they will prescribe you almost anything.
OT. if you want to try another benzo that most docs dont mind prescribing is Urbanol (clobazam) a very safe benzo
Yeah, I went through the SSRI regimens years ago and hated the fkn things. Benzos are what my body needs and specifiically klonopin (clonazapam) or valium. Xanax hits me too fast and I dont like the crash and ambien does nothing for me. Weird, I know. K pins are nice as they are long lasting and V's about the same, so those 2 are my babies of choice.Hydroxyzine is what my Doctor recently prescribed me for anxiety as I've had bad reactions to SSRIs and have past issues with Benzos. Hydroxyzine is an antihistamine that actually works pretty well for anxiety and isn't as sedating as Denadryl or doxylamine. I can take it during the day and not be too groggy. Gabapentin can also help but can have some side effects after being on it for a while as well as being addictive. After being on it for some months I started to get mood swings so I stopped. It worked especially well for social anxiety though. I had no issues talking to people I didn't know or even public speaking in front of a group. I want to get back on it but dont have insurance at the moment
I agree, it's pretty messed up that they can have you on something for so long and then just take it away, especially if you were taking it and didn't need to increase dosage or anything. The dosages you said they had you on were nothing crazy. I'm sorry that they did that to you. The healthcare system needs drastic overhaul.Yeah, I went through the SSRI regimens years ago and hated the fkn things. I haven't heard of Hydroxyzine, thanks, I'll look it up too. I tried gabapentin and hated it, sleepy AF and brain fog bad...plus my doc wouldn't script that one for me either. It's a damm shame they let old guys like me suffer when I've taken certain drugs that help me - yet they cut you off. Like I said, all they do is make the drug problem worse and send people to the streets to get what they need. Even old fcks like me. LOL
Yeah, but have you studied the side effects, permanent ones. Can be sometimes treated but usually irreversible. Tardive dyskinesia:Chlorpromazine (Thorazine, Largactil) works VERY well for anxiety for me. It works just as well as a benzo, but it's non-addictive. You don't get any of the pleasant/recreational feeling you get with a benzo like feeling all warm and lovely, but it will eliminate that anxiety!
Yeah, but have you studied the side effects, permanent ones. Can be sometimes treated but usually irreversible. Tardive dyskinesia:
Involuntary movements; of the tongue, limbs, neck, facial muscles, trunk muscles. But estimates range at worst to only 20% of patients get this. It can happen usually after long term use, but sometimes short term use.
But permanent: involuntary lip smacking, grimacing, and all sorts of involuntary facial and muscle movements; won't cause anxiety, or will it?
C.E. You have bitched and moaned about American health care and you are on a first generation anti psychotic, straight outta of the dark ages of psychiatric medications?
Yeah, UK health care rules.Fuck the side effects, cost is their only concern.
Edit: also have you heard of the Thorazine Shuffle, probably related to Chorea. Look it up along with all the other side effects. I would definitely take a hard pass on that one or any 1st generation anti psychotics.
Even the 2nd generation ones have potentially bad side effects.
So do your self a favor bro, research these meds before you start taking them. Then weigh the risks and the benefits before you dive head first into these drugs.
Besides even I know you are not psychotic.
Yes chlorpromazine is non addictive but can still cause severe withdrawal in some people not to mention other long term neurological problemsChlorpromazine (Thorazine, Largactil) works VERY well for anxiety for me. So, 1.5mg clonazpam daily, isn't really a small dose. It's not a crazy dose, but, it's definitely not nothing.Currently on Clonazapam/Klonopin ( a mere .5 3x a day)
Yeah, I mean it's fine if you don't like stimulants, but neither amphetamine or methylphenidate are really comparable to methamphetamine. Both of those substances have a way better safety profile than benzodiazepines, arguably, and amphetamine is one of the most useful substances in the world for a ton of people. If you've tried them and they didn't help you, you probably don't have adhd. I don't think anyone in their right mind would suggest or prescribe stimulants for anxiety.Open to all suggestions. EXCEPT :
Kratom :gives me bad headaches
And I don't want Adderal/Ridalin aka METH.
I tried herbal stuff with zero luck. (kava, valerian, etc)
According to Psychology Today, you are right. It also discussed that very little research has been done but definitely there can in a majority 2/3, but like I read doctors don't tell their patients this and the same with many antidepressants.Antipsychotic withdrawal really does exist lol and it's worse than opioid wd and alcohol wd, even some benzo wd
My psychiatrist showed up at my house with the cops last year. I was cut off from all meds despite already being in withdrawal from them (haloperidol)According to Psychology Today, you are right. They only seem to care about Benzo and opiod withdrawal and don't spend the time, money or effort to learn more about these side effects.
It is sad that the people who need these medications are not properly informed by the doctors, who prescribed them.
They don't have step down dose plans or anything most times.
What makes this especially troubling is that people who need these meds are often very vulnerable and the withdrawal, I would think could really cause them even bigger issues due to the conditions that they are used to treat.
It seems highly irresponsible to put it mildly that they would give these meds out and not warn them. It is a good idea to extras of potentially addictive meds in case, which has happened to me that the pharmacy is out and in one case it was a Saturday and my pharmacy wasn't open on Sunday and even then I had too wait to tuesday for the delivery, lucky I had extras.
It wasn't an anti psychotic or antidepressant but carried a withdrawal, so having extras of addictive or meds with withdrawals, it is good to keep a few days worth in an emergency, like the one I experienced and thankfully was able to just barely make with no issues.
But, you are right I don't take these meds and had no idea of possible withdrawal and at least 2/3 of people do have withdrawals from antipsychotic meds and little research is done and patients have no idea. Awful.

I spent the following 11 days confined to hospital. 2 of those days were spent in ICU. The others in psych ward. I was sent home with no meds and everyone seemed surprised I started drinking a lot of whisky. My withdrawals were mostly ignored or blamed on something besides prescription drugs.
