whisper quietly in the cool air
but your breath is showing
you throw sticks and I'll throw stones
we'll make our bodies raw
but your breath is slowing
and when we break from stress
arms come out from under the streats
and put us back together
where you gone to love, after I left you in the road?
that warm night under the street light
pack your bag and show me the door
blind as a heart felt goodbye
hoping you will find your way in
maybe just wander off and die
mad like a bull starved and beat
might just run at the red
javellin rains tonight, the red fondu
just keep quiet and die like you mean it
remember to keep your head up

Wow, this gave me shivers. The imagery!!

What a beautiful, tragic piece. Full of very original thoughts - I also loved: "just keep quiet and die like you mean it/ remember to keep your head up" :)

Fantastic stuff, emesaeler! Beautiful flow and imagery, and there's a lilting, sensual rhythm to it. I like how it progresses from tender lyricism towards a darker, unsettling ending.

I love the bits that SLM quoted, but then I love the whole thing.
