Gone Fishing
There are so many fishes in the sea.
Its good to think that one is meant for me.
It seemed that you and I would become we.
Now all thats left is fishes in the sea.
Id know my fish when at me gazed she.
The waves would still, or tremble violently.
Two fishes one, as ducks are said to be.
Now all thats left is fishes in the sea.
Much would I give for fishing less to be
and sit with thee and me, and tree, and glee --
crackle with mirth, gasp Stop! No more! Now pretty pretty please
come tease me, tease we, pleasing touching we.
Instead, my heart, contrive you fleet to go.
Fish! Fish! Someday one fish Ill net, I know.

I figured I should go back and put some background for each poem and say what it is about. I wrote this one after sending A Hero's Song to this girl and she did not respond well to it. I was going to write another poem (it was going to be very romantic and I am surprised I came up with the idea but the pictures I took for the poem never came out). Instead, I think I have given up on trying (I think) and, thus, I have concluded that there are many more fish in the sea. Women are like street cars--another one comes along every minute....
