I'll preface this by saying I didn't read through the thread...
IMO, going to work under the influence, regardless of what you will be doing, is irresponsible and immature.
I agree completely.
It's not the whole impaired part at all either.
It's just such a disrespectful thing to do. A man extends you his hand and gives you a job, and then you could potentially cause a loss of income because you turn off customers, you could make co-workers uncomfortable, you could possibly invite legal repercussions, civil actions, and endangerment cases. I mean the man trusts you with his livelihood, and you put it to risk. The least you could do is be sober and perform to the best of your ability. You may do your job fine, but you aren't doing your absolute best when high.
If it's your own business though, or you have the approval of the owner, go ahead.
But hey that's just my opinion, don't let me rain on your parade. I mean I'm just another druggie on the net, trying to preach morality to druggies is a whole slew of bs in itself (although I would never go to work high). After all, these are all great stories from your old days of being a dumb kid right
I mean does anyone agree or what? I mean I'm a hypocrit right, I'm a capitalist but I support anti-capitalist groups in South America with drug money...
I dunno, it just seems fucked up to do drugs while someone is doing the best thing anyone could do for you - give you a job. It takes alot of money and balls to start up a business, it really pisses me off when people try to force business and tell them what they 'owe' to people like health insurance, ridiculous taxes, medical leave mandates, et cetera.
