Going to work high

I'll preface this by saying I didn't read through the thread...

IMO, going to work under the influence, regardless of what you will be doing, is irresponsible and immature.

I work as a computer tech at a university.

The day I had my interview I was having a minor OD on methadone (I took one too many the night before and I was told by a friend they only lasted like 6 hours... I didn't have to go to the hospital but i was throwing up and my vision was blurred and my eyes looked like shit). The interview was difficult, he asked me all sorts of comp questions, but somehow I did well and got the job.

When I was still new I ate some pot brownies and had the same problem as before, didn't realize they would last as long as they did, and ended up coming in super high... didn't get caught though.

More recently I came in on 5 hits of acid, not to work but to clear up some issues my boss was having... That was a nightmare, but I still managed to get through it. I have some night shifts this semester, where I'm the only one working... I'll probably have a lot of fun with that.

oh come on mr grumpy pants, there are different types of 'influence'. do you not have a cup of coffee when you get into work?

THAT'S DRUGS! :! =D

I think it depends on what kind of drugs you're taking at work. And I know some people may be think "Well, we're do you draw the line?". Well, me personally I use opiates nearly everyday of my life. I work in an office. It really has no negative impact on how I perform at work.

However when for whatever reason I cant get hold of anything, obviously it effects me at work because I'm not feeling the best. So I can definitely see where phrozen is coming from.

I definitely dont think people should take psychedelics at work. And myself personally, I wouldn't smoke pot and come to work either. If you have a job where you can actually do your job at work while stoned... well maybe you shouldnt be smoking and should be studying or working harder to get a job thats maybe a bit more fulfilling? Or maybe it does fulfill you. Whatever, this is just a personal opinion.

Man I stand and operate the most boring ass machine ever all day long. I dont really feel in danger of hurting myself or anything...and I get stoned allll day long. everybreak we hit the pipe

I run a warehouse, probably 60-75% of my average day is spent fucking off on Bluelight and getting high.

I get high every morning on the way in as long as I have bud, I smoke whenever I want during the day, and if I have them, use opiates too (but I like to save them for after if possible, they're more "worth it" that way if you get me.)

i go to work high on nothing except opiates. makes m job way more enjoyable, i talk to everybody and goof round alot more, and makes my job seem to go by quicker too.

everyone i work with does some kind of substance, and my boss's DOC are opiates like me, so we get along very well, and shes always got somethin i can buy off of her.if it wasnt for the people i work with, i prolly woulda quit this job a good minute ago.

well i used to go to work "high" (on drugs) every day...short sleeve uniforms suck that's all i can say. but dope makes waiting tables semi-tolerable.
Wearing long sleeves to cover your tracks when it's 95*F with high humidity sucks a fatty too...I can't even wear makeup on my arms in that weather without smearing it all over from sweat; so long sleeves were my only choice when I worked outdoors in the summer.

Winter is my favorite season for IV use...I had a real interesting time teaching a half dozen 8yr-olds the fundamentals of alpine skiing while on day 5 of a 5-day IV meth binge was interesting. Somehow it all worked out though...one kids dad even bought a season pass for him since the kid had so much fun skiing that day. It was kinda weird tho when I brought the kids into the chalet for their hot-coco break and after getting them all seated with their tasty warm beverages I headed over to the bathroom to bang another half gram of some flame crystal. Shit did it ever keep me feeling warm tho. When it comes to fighting the cold: a constant heart rate of 190BPM+ > hot coco.

The military or the food service industry?

food service industry.

we DID have some interesting military types blow into town after katrina, though, and a lot of rumors are flying.

I used to go to work on speed loads, it makes you more efficient - honest.

I've done drugs at work aswell, speed and e (the e was the sesh from the night before)

Please explain how it is irresponsible and immature. I go to work high all the time, I am a smart person, and I do all my responsibilites. I don't act like a retard or anything, just everything seems more amusing in my mind, and makes me want to eat more on my breaks. I work in the food industry, and I'm pretty aware of food safe regulations. In fact, I'm going to go get high now, then it's off to work!

I agree completely.

There is a time and place for drugs and that is not the workplace. Do it on you OWN time, not your boss' who is paying you to work for him/her

You ever think some people might be MORE productive when high?

Especially on amphetamines and certain opiates. I know I was.

Plus I know plenty of people who are retarded when they don't smoke. Sounds dumb, I know, but true.
