Hey BL, I was reading up on Adderall yesterday, I heard that it lowers your metabolism, hence making weight gain easier. I am 5'9" 110lbs, I have a metabolism that's off the charts so would it be a good idea to start taking Adderall for like a month or so? I took a 25mg capsule last night at work and didn't feel anything. What is a good dosage to "get high" off of? And is Adderall generally pricy or am I looking at a cheaper pop?

Either you're taking the piss, or you haven't researched adderall at all.
Adderall ignites your metabolism to twice it's normal rate, if not more. You need to make sure you eat a lot of food on adderall otherwise you'll burn out quickly. Was the 25mg capsule xR or IR? It's strange you didn't feel anything. Are you currently on any other meds? As for how much to get high off, 25mg should have gotten you fuckin geeked if you'd never had experience with stims before XR or not.

Seriously, significant weight loss is a major side effect of adderall. My sister and I are both prescribed it... In the beginning, she went from like 110 to less than 100 and was scary skinny. It cuts my appetite completely. On the days I take it, I choke down a protein bar for breakfast, eat a string cheese and a piece of turkey for lunch and like three bites of dinner.

Why are you taking it? Is it prescribed? It looks like you are self prescribing it, but for what reason?

Are you serious? No, Adderall does the opposite, it speeds things up and lowers appetite, you definitely were misinformed. Adderall is not going to make you gain weight.

Is it IR (instant/regular release) or ER (extended release)? I am assuming ER if it was a capsule. We can't tell you what a good dose "to get high off" is, plus everyone's different, but we could tell you normal/safe starting doses.

And is Adderall generally pricy or am I looking at a cheaper pop?
Compared to what?? Prices varies in different places and depend on whether you're getting it prescribed or illegally, and we don't do price discussion here. It's pretty easy for you to find out for yourself how much it costs wherever you are getting it from.

And try to do some more research before taking new drugs!

Bro I got a weight gainer shake recipe if you want me to scrounge it up. Insane like 1500 cal. In 32 oz.
Eat quality calories, lots and often, weight train the right lifts/rep and set ranges for your body, ... creatine for the illusion of more weight, Nitric oxide, maybe tribulus

A is the last thing you want

Um, it's a stimulant. Why would you think a stimulant would DECREASE your metabolism? Most amphetamine sold in the 1950's and 60's was marketed as a diet pill, used for weight loss, not gain...

Also, putting aside this is a harm *reduction* site, why are you trying to ask a question to *increase* harm alone? This isn't Drugs Forum. Sigh.

Anyway, the short answer is if you take Adderall with the intent to get high, the vast majority of the time between refills, you'll be out of Adderall. The dose required to receiving euphoria (get high) is several times the therapeutic dose (prescribed dose). By getting high, you will deplete dopamine reserves, which act as a comfy cushion for your brain to rest on while you're in-between doses. That means you will have acute amphetamine withdrawal whenever you're not on amphetamine, which isn't cute at all. So you won't have the luxury just to "take it for a month," and most of the month, you'll be out of your supply, because you required high doses to get high off it.

It doesn't sound like you even factored in that taking it "for a month" at doses required to get high mean you won't actually have it for more than a week or so after you fill the prescription. Which means you will resort to meth, or in the best case scenario, spend most of the month staring at the ceiling while lying in bed because you have so little energy. What a plan. You should ask yourself how you're working to reduce harm and keep yourself together in a sustainable way, not take a drug that will be spent within days and suffer acute withdrawal from for the remainder of the month.
