I've been doing 30 mg oxycodone, roxicets almost every day for the last two months, mostly because I've been in a lot of pain from a health issue. I'm set to have surgery in June (hopefully I will get it, still waiting to see if my hospital stay is going to be covered). Anyway, I never exceed 30 mg and surprisingly I still get pretty high off that. Do I need to tell the anasthesiologist about my use? I figured my habit is not that high that it would matter, I wanted to get some opinions on this. I plan on detoxing a week or two before I have it. Also, they won't deny me surgery because of this, will they? I'm thinking that I shouldn't tell them. Would it matter?

This issue has been covered many times. Most often when it comes to wisdom teeth if you are looking for a search term though surgery as a keyword will likely flag a bunch as well. Basically it's a good idea to mention it to your anesthesiologist and just saying "by the way I have a tolerance to opioids and mentioning the dose" shouldn't incite any further questions. I'm going to send this over to HL for you as it is more a doctor question then a drug question.
