Going Blue whilst on E and GHB

Hey there


On the weekend, something very strange happened to me. Ive been a frequent user of such drugs, as Speed , Ecstasy, and GHB for some time now.

Whilst at a freinds house I double dumped 2 orange butterfly's (Sydney) and had a 3 ml shot of G. About 1 hr into it I was sitting down talking to friends when all of a sudden I was told that my face was going blue.

I ran to the tiolet and had noticed my face had started to go blue , like as if I was out of oxygen , but I felt fine!

The blueness lasted for around 15 min, then I was back to normal skin colour.

I have never had any respiratory problems what so ever or any troubles whilst on drugs ever in my life.


Can anyone shed some light into this please?

I'm not going to get into the flaming match. Once had a friend who spent all day smoking ice and then double dropped and he turned blue, ended up being alive but still it doesn't sound good.
Sorry i know that isn't the anser to your question, maybe check some medical journals? Might be a sign that its time to start taking it easy.

Exactly my point!

Sure you pulled through ok.....this time.

But the next you may not be so lucky.
 
Thats why ive asked the question. Now I know what has happened and Im going back to my 3 month breaks that Ive been taking.

I have had pills many times for years and then one day i had a similar thing happen. i turned purple and my hands and legs froze up. these pills were also very strong. at the time i think i was a little cold but didn't even realise, i was also breathing a little strange. i have had it happen a little bit since then but not very often. i came to the conclution it was a circluation problem. it helps if i just get moving a bit, put warm water on myself, rug up. i found it usually goes away in a couple of hours when the drugs wear off.

i wouldn't panic too much, its not a common thing for someone to die from on e.

The bottom lin is; if you're going blue, even just around the lips, then your body is being starved of oxygen. Cyanosis is the name of the condition, a term originally used to describe the effects of cyanide poisoning as cyanide works by preventing hemoglobin from carrying oxygen, thereby producing the same blue-purple look (just before you die!). The mechanism may be different, but effects from being starved of O2 can obviously lead to a similar outcome.


GHB can act as a respiratory depressant. In future, make sure you are in a well ventilated room, or go outside and take some deep breaths occasionally. If you are ever worried (and you should be if the condition persists any time), then don't hesitate to call a hospital for advice.
