going back to school

i've decided that i should go back to school. to finish a graduate degree this time... people say 3rd times the charm, right? :p

i am debating if i want to go back to school in seattle or quickly get a master's around here. i found a program here where i can get a degree online in about a year. with the prevalence of for profit and non-profit schools churning out degrees, i don't see the point in going to a traditional university. i think most school districts just look for the letters after my name anyhow.

the annoying part is, the degree/certification i want requires a massive 1,000+ hours long internship. that is a long time to be working and not making much money. but on the plus side, it gives me an excuse to be working part time while in school.

Congrats, and lots of luck to you-- no matter which route you choose to take!

I've actually come to a similar decision today. :)

Congrats to both of you! :)

3rd time has been (so far) the charm for me getting a degree as well. Mine is just a BSW though, not a Master's. What degree are you going for?

thanks spork and dave :)

i am getting (finishing) my M.Ed with a focus in behavioral analysis. it is a bunch of fancy letters meaning i want to keep doing what i am doing now (taking care of kids with autism)

Congrats to all of you! I'm on track to finish my prerequisites to an MBA program (which at some schools are not required) at the end of winter, and still need to take the GMAT. Distance/online learning is very common because of working people's schedules. I'd like to adjust mine so I can go to school full-time and finish more quickly. Where I go will depend on my GMAT results. Of course it would be great to have you back in the PNW... and I am even looking at a program in Seattle. Good luck however you decide.
