God & mental illness

While I believe religion to be a figment of mans own belief, I firmly believe that We are created in Gods image therefore Gods imagination. While some may misconstrue this statement I simply mean God created us out of necessity, now follow me on this imagine being in a completely dark room alone no one to talk to for days months even years at a time now apply that on the level of the creator decades centuries etc. at a time before the universe as we know it, was created don't you think that would get very lonely. Now can anyone agree that we are the creators imaginary friends he/she actually had to the power to bring to fruition. Now think man and women now in existence praying for this praying for that don't and now the creator is hearing this voice ask for this ask for that now there's multiple let alone millions in his or her mind sounds very familiar to hearing voices. My ultimate question is there really something deeper to something most shrug off as schizophrenia he's crazy give him a pill it'll make him normal but what is normal nothing is logical but can only be described in an illogical sense I hope I'm losing nobody on this, plus if anyone familiar with the bible it's says God always was and always will be the alpha the omega the beginning and end if so he/she would have no parents. So could one say he had abandonment issues. "Your thoughts"
 
It was just the idea of it if u just existed but didn't know how wouldn't u wonder who was your creator ie parents
 
^Yeah, I guess you would. But is it accurate or reasonable to ascribe common human motivations to a so-called divine entity? It is certainly tempting, and intuitively appealing, but may be utterly delusional. And it is problematic to use the bible as a true description of the psychology of god. Given the huge voids in astronomical and scientific knowledge which was culturally apparent during the time of the bibles writing, it would be somewhat futile to use writings penned in this light as anything but myth/fable. I can see the bible, and its description of the lifestyle of god, as little more then speculation.
 
I'll take a shot at this.

IMO I don't think God created us out of loneliness. Remember before mankind there were all sorts of angels and spiritual beings. Why God created us is a question that could be discussed for hours, but I do know the scriptures say God is a jealous God, and that leads me to believe there is something he wants from us. Whether it is love, worship, praise, or simply out of his own goodness giving existence to other beings and being there for them to help them thrive and be more like him. The scriptures do say we are made in God's image and that we are to strive to be more like God (Christ). As for God hearing x amount of people at once, yes this is an easy task for an All-Powerful, All-Knowing force. That being said you're taking an attribute away from God by saying he wonders how he was created, implying he doesn't know something. God was, and is, and ever will be. The Great I AM. The laws of science and time don't apply to God, he created them.
 
I'd say since gods got infinite skills and whatnot he can hear all of our bullshit prayers and questions like us nutjobs can hear the neighbors talking about us through the microphones in our ears. It's probably second nature to him.
I'm not a super religious person so I'm just taking a guess.
I'm sure pat Robertson and jerry Falwell talk to god all the time so I'm sure they'll have an answer to this question, lmfao!
 
The title made me think of that the existence we lead is kind of a sick one. At times I've come to the idea that if I wasn't sick I wouldn't exist... There'd be not much point in it. It's not necessarily a conclusion but I keep thinking about how without illnesses and things attacking, and without my taking advantage of weakness, this wouldnt exist. Without weak, there is no strong.

Sometimes I think I'm God and I dreamt up God and others. That I make it all up. I'm also pretty sick.

I've read it hypothesized that parasites helped drive evolution. And bacteria and viruses.

If Jesus is Host, are we little blood suckers/parasites? Is Jesus sick? Can the inverse be true? Is God a parasite? Is God a vampire? Is that always bad?

Wasn't Jesus called king of worms? I'm sure many metaphors might apply to such a figure. God being the end and the beginning would be the top and the bottom, as well. The Lion and the Lamb.

Is it an accident that prophets and schizophrenics both hear voices, or hallucinate imagery? One of the most interesting and mind and soul opening people I have met was in ways mentally ill, and suffered illness in her life. Some of my most interesting life experiences have come from times when some would say I was ill. And if I weren't ill, there might not be a reason for a lot of it- for my life.

I wonder if I perpetuate my suffering, as it has had quite a lot of positive reinforcement. Do I unconsciously desire outcomes that require weakness, and failure, and through this, do I hurt myself?

God is often found the most by people who need it. Without punishment- without being failures, I doubt we would have awareness. I doubt we could have our success.

I have adopted a Buddhist view at times that the greatest point that I can reach is to be extinguished... clutching to existence is asking for more pain, weakness, and disease, and deficiency... want. Its asking to be a parasite. Its asking to be a host to demons. But, I'm not sure. I might have some better words to use. I don't like this sort of conclusion necessarily. But that could be that I'm deluding myself. I still believe something goes on, me after me... But again, I may be deluding myself. But the desire might be enough to keep going.

What does God have to do with mental illness.its not a spiritual problem its a mental problem due too your parents gene pool,traumatic experience,or drug use.all of us have a little bipolar,anxiety,depression,schitzo, in us its just how much your awarness focuses on it and of course some are more prone due to the reasons stated above being relative to everyone. But if u believe in god as the creator of everything that theory doesnt work. i believe in God as universal consciousness

I have a God/Christ complex. One day a few years ago, I had a gallbladder attack. The pain has been with me since, although the intensity is less because of measures I've taken to reduce it.

The pain- the location of it, I have seen resonance with the pierced side of Jesus- the spear in his side. The gallbladder is associated with anger (bile). So has the liver been said to be the seat of anger (not to so narrowly define it). When Jesus's side was pierced, it's said that water (purification/solvent) and blood (life) poured from the wound.

"For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ."
