I have been diagnosed with Depression due to the loss of my father 6 months ago. I was given 2mg Clonazepam and 150mg Pregabalin per day to take per day due to anxiety; I was also given 50mg of Quetiapine to sleep in the night.
I also used to do lots of recreational drugs in my 20's, now I'm 30 and I still do drugs, but more the type of downers and uppers to get my job done (I'm a netadmin in a port where ships docks and transfer cargo to or from land, and could seem easy labor, but the truth is that is due to the environment and scale of the port, is pretty hardcore stuff both for the body and mind).

To fall sleep, I have been trying to avoid Quetiapine, mostly because it makes very very difficult for me to get up early in the morning, even on lower doses than 50mg, like 25mg; I'm also afraid of not hearing the alarm clock. So for sleep, I have been taking from 600 to 900mg of SOMA (Carisoprodol), together with a light meal and 2mg of Clonazepam. It has worked pretty well so far, except because of the tolerance to SOMA, so I have been thinking of tapering and slowly for some time to Amitryptiline or Diphenhydramine, I would like some comments/help on this.

To get up, and most importantly, perform the best I can during the day (specially in the mornings though) a combination of 200mg Provigil (Modafinil) and 150mg Pregabalin has proved to be a source of a nice, clean boost that lasts from 5 to 7 hours (add casual coffee/energy drink here). Sometimes the amount of Modafinil is not enough, and I need to dose another 100mg with some black coffee to last until the end of the day.
The problem with this it's that I'm becoming dependant on the Modafinil, which also happens to be an expensive drug. Coke is not only something that wouldn't work because it's not long lasting, but something I fear from the memories I have of it. I never researched on Adderall, but I'm almost sure the drug is not commercialized here for some stupid reason. I would also like some comment/help on this.

Thanks in advance.

Try an XR stimulant for during the day along with caffeine. Doxylamine is a really good AH for sleep. Knocks me out. 25mg I would recommend.

For the stim, Concerta 54mg XR works a good 9hrs (avg working hours) for me. Though I don take drugs to get through my day cuz I prefer to not have tolerance to them.

But try the MPH XR and Doxylamine.

I am sorry for your loss.
if you are medicated that much due to depression, substances like those you are looking for can be totally counterproductive for you, IMO.
Good luck

Thanks for the replies, I couldn't answer before because of, well, work.

I was able today to purchase another box of 15 200mg Modafinil pills, but the drug got even more expensive .... add it the Carisoprodol, some Clonazepam, and your pocket it's half the size it was. I purchased the thing on a whim because I have no other option yet, but I will definitely look into Concerta and Doxylamine. Hope those are marketed here, if that's not the case I'll ask for help/other options again in this thread.

I was in a very similar place as you with the medications I was on, but it was only in the short to medium term my doctor explained to me. He was only intending on me having the such I levels and as he put it slightly over prescribed. It was so that we could nail the condition on the head and get me the other non drug treatments underway which couldn't be undertaken with me so heavily depressed and suicidal. If he spent time getting the medications more balanced we could be months and months from me starting the other treatments. So I was on downers for sleep, uppers for waking up, more uppers if required during the day for 6mths or more. Once everything we going well and I had returned to close to my previous functioning level then we started modifying the drugs (and still are) to get the on going long term dose so I am not treating one side affect with medication which then requires more medication to treat the new side affect.
So if you have not already ask your treating doctor about the length of treatment with this combination of drugs and that are the long term intentions for your prescribed medication, that would be a good starting point. As if like me you are only going to be on this combination for a short time then it isn't really a issue in my opinion. If he says no you will be taking this combination for ever or a really long time, then I would be asking why and further exploring the reasoning of what his intentions are and deciding from there you plan.

Sirfoxey, I see. Could you tell me how was your nutrition, as in, how much did you eat, and if it was normally by yourself because you were hungry, or you had to force yourself to eat? because I'm the latter case, and that's also one of my problems; while it's good and nice to loss weight, not eating anything at all for days (until weekends) has been a norm for me for a long time now.
With uppers, specially Modafinil in this case, not even Pregabalin makes me hungry enough.

My two year old son was murdered 13 years ago, so I understand the depression that comes on after loosing someone you love.

My deepest sympathy for loss of your father.

My advice is to start over, start clean. Why? Because grief is a normal reaction to death, so is the depression.

Instead of mixing mass meds, why not try Adderall with a combo of one drug that will help you rest and aid with depression.

Does that make sense? Once you sleep better, you'll feel better.

Modafinil is actually very cheap. Don't go for Provigil - that's expensive as fuck. I have Modvigil and the only difference between the two is the price tag.

Modafinil cost my insurance company $890 for a 30-day supply of 100MG pills (that had no effect on me whatsoever) so to say they are 'actually very cheap' is the understatement of the year.

Benzos are a poor choice for sleep med unless you really really need them
because of tolerance and dependence, you will end up needing more and more.

Diphenhydramine is good for sleep
Mirtazapine and Agomelatine are real winners as well.
Caffeine is good for waking up especially if you only use it in the morning to keep your tolerance down.
Plus both coffee and tea have their own unique health benefits, there's some good reading for you if you google it

Well that's just fucking ridiculous.
I paid about $200 last year for 180x200mg Modvigil (and yes I know it's genuine because I've had the original Cephalon Provigil as well and there is shit all difference).

My nutrition is screwed currently I might eat one meal a day at best some days I can go without a meal for 2 or 3 days. The meals I have I have to force myself to eat even or I could easily go without it. I am not overweight now and I was only just overweight. My health professionals agreed that it was not a great situation but given I am not rapidly fading away that the side effect of this in the short term was not a problem if we could get my mental health under control and then remove the need for modafinil. They have me on nutritional supplements to ensure that I am still getting the required vitamins and minerals.

Provigil = Modafinil, are you talking about buying generic Modafinil instead of Provigil? if so, I already do it, because few laboratories market the drug in my country, but all are expensive, although there's a huge difference between the ""cheap"" and "expensive" brands. So I try to take less, but I buy the expensive one of a well known laboratory.

I totally agree with you. I don't even try anymore to take lots of Clonazepam, it won't really make me sleep. I will try 600mg SOMA and 20mg of Quetiapiane just to get the antihistamine effects.

from my experience kloponin for me at least took away from adderall when I took it 15mg felt like 5mg unless I skipped the kloponin I was told because of the long half life of the kloponin so I'd suggest a shorter acting benzo assuming you go with adderall XR/IR or any stimulant for that matter

Just a reminder guys, we can't discuss prices in OD. This includes prescribed medication.

Mirtazipine is great until you gain about 10 pounds on it. This shit is like the weed munchies x10.
