November it's the traditional month of sobriety round these parts, it's called 'doing the holy souls' and its the cause of a great deal of complacency among those who are besotted wretches the other 11 months.
 
No no no, November is the month not to shave, coz it rhymes with Mo-vember or such shit. As in moustache?

Someone give me a reason not to kill myself in the next thirty seconds that doesn't rhyme with fucking January or something or I'm off to bed to stare at an empty phone inbox and...kill myself. Dont be a cunt and call the police either or I'll kill you too.
 
Yeah they had a black bear on. That beer was piss weak even when I was 7.[We've got a bad ass over here].
Charity is all good, but what happened to working for your charity.Wheres the challange. The people that are doing this arent going to be heavey drinkers. Just dicks that are doing it for their own self gratification, there gonna tweet, instagram, take selfies of them tweeting. Then they can show the world how much they do for charity. If you care about it just donate a wod of cash to McMilan and STFU.

True. Like that ice bucket challenge. I was nominated for that, didn't do it though. It really was annoying how EVERYONE kept doing it.

Yea I though of them. Just because people don't mention / discuss. 9/11 doesn't mean they've forgotten. Was a very sad tragedy, I was watching the news all week that week n it was upsetting seeing all that suffering. Can't imagine how the people on the planes felt either.

Easy win for me, it must be over 2 years since I've partaken, I quite like the idea as a fund raising thing it seems apt to give up something we take for granted to help those who have little of the we no longer even stop to think about.

I'm not big on charity TBH especially the corporate style organisation we see so much of but I do try and give to the ones I think do a decent job of it. The Salvation Army are local to me and I always try to give generously to them, IMO they tings they do for children and homeless and lonely people is genuine Christianity....bit more time doing and less time pointlessly god bothering :)
 
I agree about the salvation army n taking stuff for granted.

I used to go to a recovery group n at Christmas there was a few people who weere going to be alone for the day. That would have been sad, when I think of my lovely family n spending time with them at Christmas.

They went to the salvation army n had an ace day. They had slur instead of alcohol n a good Christmas meal. Plus they make breakfast n all sorts for the homeless - so yes they're good.

I give to Cancer Research UK whenever I can for Lewis as he was 29 n I never had a chance to say bye to him, the RNIB n Alzheimer's as my Taid suffered with it.

The issue I have is where the money ACTUALLY goes. I understand that certain members of staff require payment, admin fees n what-not but how much of our money ACTUALLY goes to the cause in question? For example, take Africa. Every year they raise money, lots of it (comic relief, n so forth) n it is stated that certain things are low-cost ie mosketo nets (sorry cant spell brain has gone to lunch!) are £8, so they raise all these millions - if things are so cheap then why are we still having to raise lots of money?

Sorry if this comes out wrong, it's not meant to. I don't mind helping people in Africa - not by a long shot, but I'm right in questioning where our money is going, am I not?

There are 1.1 billion people living on the african continent and that is rising all the time. Mosquito nets get torn/broken/lost/stolen all the time. You cant just give an african bloke a mosquito net and send him on his way for the next 40 years

I get what you're saying. The mosquito net was an example, of course they need more than that, when you phrase it like that - it make sense. And thanks for the spelling :)
